FunkyMonk
So who else has this cracker of an album? It really is one of my favourite albums and it's on pretty heavy rotation for me. It's just such a really passionate album and you can just feel that they really believe in what they're singing about.I never fully understood what they were trying to say about Axl though? ...So if someone could clear that up for me that'd be great .Not one bad song on the album either. I've downloaded some of their Acoustic EP aswell and it's really awesome too, even prefer some of the tracks to the ones on this album; which says something indeed. So who likes these guys? They are such a great drunk singalong music too...although normally it's only me cause nobody else knows them .
Dead Flower
I never fully understood what they were trying to say about Axl though? ...So if someone could clear that up for me that'd be great .We want a band that plays loud and hard every nightThat doesn't care how many people are counted at the doorThat would travel one million miles and ask for nothing more than a plate of food and a place to restThey'd strike chords that cut like a knifeIt would mean so much more than t-shirts or a ticket stubThey'd stop at nothing short of a massacreEveryone would leave with the memory that there was no place else in the worldAnd this was where they always belongedWe would dance like no one was watchingWith one fist in the airOur arena just basements and bookstores across an underground AmericaWith this fire we could lightJust gimme a scene where the music is freeAnd the beer is not the life of the partyThere's no need to shit talk or impress'Cause honesty and emotion are not looked down uponAnd every promise that's made and braggedis meant if not keptWe'd do it all because we have to, not because we know whyBeyond a gender, race, and class, we could find what really holds us backLet's make everybody singThat they are the beginning and ending of everythingThat we all are stronger than everything they taught us that we should fearBasically I think they want their band to avoid everything GnR/Axl had become in 2001. Very punk rock and idealistic lyrics.I bought the album and enjoyed it, but I haven't listened to it in ages. Might dig it out and have another listen. Gash
Great album. Their peak I dare say. Can't listen to their new stuff. Not into the whole politics "signed to a major" shit. It's just shit. They truly lost it somewhere. Anyway, fuck it,BABY, I'M AN ANARCHIST! YOU'RE A SPINELESS LIBERAL, WE MARCHED TOGETHER FOR THE EIGHT HOUR DAY AND HELD HANDS ON THE STREETS OF SEATTLE!" They made some amazing songs.

Very punk rock and idealistic lyrics.Yeah I kind of never understanded the point they were making cause being a naive fan I never really thought of it as ripping off fans or selling out or anything like that. But that makes sense from an outsider looking at Axl back then I guess...
KBear
I'll have to look into this band. I just discovered . What a cool song! The singer's voice and delivery reminds me a lot of Dexter Holland.
Zint
I'll have to look into this band. I just discovered . What a cool song! The singer's voice and delivery reminds me a lot of Dexter Holland.Yeah that's a great song.First started hearing it on 97.7 before it broke wide open.I really connected with the lyrics..they apply to a lot of people I grew up with.Sadly many are gone...I've checked out a few other songs but I'm not digging anything else yet.Might have to check out this Axl Rose release. KBear
I've checked out a few other songs but I'm not digging anything else yet.It sucks when you really dig a song and then look for others in a band's catalog but they just don't live up to the first song. I read a brief bio on this band and they sound intriguing, lyrically and musically (punk/folk/rock blend). Though from what I read this latest release is more straight ahead rock. Hopefully I'll find a few other gems from these guys. Edited November 9, 2008 by KBear

FunkyMonk
Might have to check out this Axl Rose release.Definitely man it's easily their best. It shits over their newer stuff, it's a completely different sound.I still listen to this album a lot actually, I've never got tired of it.
