Obvioulsy, not much to talk about GnR land now......so you get these threads, were people just talk about what they like or what is important to them.

So any Stone Roses fans on here........specifically their self-titled debut. I think it was one the best debuts' I have ever heard. Depending on the day, I might would rank it up there with Appetite.

"I Wanna Be Adored" describes teen-angst, better than anything Nirvana ever produced.

I cannot begin to describe how obsessed i was with this band, i used to love them so much, i still really like em but its like i fell out of love with them if ya can dig that, like ian brown used to be my idol, now he rubs me up the wrong fukin way. Their first album is still magical, not a bad song on it, i wana be adored, waterfall, suger spun sister, shoot you down, this is the one, i am the resurection, great tunes. I might go listen to that first album right now actually.

One of the best albums I've had the pleasure to own. It's magic. Bye Bye Badman is one of the best pop songs ever.

Probably only Velvet Underground's debut score higher in my book. It should be criminal not to own this album.

Your final flight can't be delayed...

Never heard, but I'm thinking about downloading it ors omething. are they Rock n roll or what? Like, what's a band to compare their music to.

Don't really know who to compare them to. I guess the Kinks would be the closest comparison that comes to mind. I'd recommend downloading Fools Gold, Waterfall, She Bangs the Drum and Begging You for a start.

Im sorry, I hate to be "that guy" but I really tried to like this album. I had heard all the hype and saw how it was voted one of the most influential British albums and I decided to give it a shot. I really couldnt get into it. I though the drumming sounded very hokey and 80s, that was a huge turn off. I didnt see the appeal of the songs. Are they supposed to work on a "dark pop" level? It wasnt bad I just dont see how some people can say it was better than Beatles albums. Im interested to hear any counter arguments to this for I feel like Im missing something

I was kinda the same way when I first heard the album......I just didn't "get i" and in fact I can say I hated it.

After awhile it did grow on me. Give it a couple more listens before you right it off.
