Would Duff be able to be as popular without Axl or Slash or Izzy?

The real question is, would GN'R been as popular without Duff.. And as they say, Duff was the conductor of GN'R when they played live so he was very important.

IMO, this thread doesn't really make sense. There are too many answers, too many things that make a great band great.

I totally agree. There might be members in bands who stand out more like axl or slash but in the best bands each member is irreplacable imo.

yep.... but in 90% of bands its Lead Guitarist and Singer. Unless its Motley Crue its the EXACT opposite, Sometimes its only one person EX. Angel and Airwaves, Smashing Pumpkins but Jimmy C. is kinda big. Or Foo Fighters.
