In which band do you like Dio the best?

His work in Black Sabbath is awesome, Doom Metal at it's finest in songs like Sign Of The Southern Cross.

Ranibow. Black Sabbath is better with Ozzy, his solo stuff is far from either, and Rainbow rocks. Him and Blackmore was a pair made in heaven.

the Sabbath and Rainbow stuff are pretty even. his first two solo efforts were very good, after that he's been real hit or miss. he has had some great moments like "All The Fools Sailed Away" and "Fever Dreams". i do like some of the Elf stuff, especiallyt he first album. i also have a song that i bought on iTunes by Ronnie and The Prophets called "Gonna Make It Alone b/w Swingin Street " it's really good late-50's/early-60's sounding pop/doo-wap. i recommend it.

I saw them twice in September, 5th row at 2 shows 2 weeks apart! It was awesome to see them opening night of the US leg in Dio's hometown!

No, it was in Binghamton, which is about 15 mins from his hometown of Cortland.

Sabbath is definitely better with Dio, but I still love him in Rainbow. Rising is one of the best albums ever.

several people have made similar statements, but preferring Ozzy over Dio really doesn't matter. do you think Dio's work in Sabbath is RJD's best work or is it Rainbow or solo?
