Making a Maiden list with war songs.......

The Trooper

The Longest Day

Afraid To Shoot Strangers

Paschendale

Die With Your Boots On

These Colours Don't Run

Fortunes Of War

Only The Good Die Young

Aces High

New Frontier

For The Greater Good Of God

The Evil That Men Do

Any you think I should add. I probably have forgotten some. Or is it some you think should not be there?

I don't include Run To The Hills cus I don't think it's THAT kinda war song, as it's more the slaughter of indians song.

Yes.. if you remove these from the list:

The Trooper

The Longest Day

Afraid To Shoot Strangers

Paschendale

Die With Your Boots On

Fortunes Of War

Only THe Good Die Young

Aces High

New Frontier

The Evil That Men Do

And replace them by these:

Everything else but Maiden

yeah, just added Colours.

But Greater Good Of God? Isn't that more of a.... bibel song?

I see it as a song about how people can use religion as an excuse to go to war. Its a bit of both.

Ah yeah, cool. It's a great song.

What about Two Minutes To Midnight?

It's kinda about the cruel stuff about war, and... yeah. What do you think?

Yeah, according to wikipedia, its references the Cold War, so I guess it qualifies.

The Evil That Men Do and Only The Good Die Young aren't about war, they're part of the Seventh Son story which has nothing to do with war. And add Invaders, Where Eagles Dare, Two Minutes To Midnight, Run Silent Run Deep, The Aftermath, The Clansman, Montsegur and Brighter Than A Thousand Suns

Pretty much 80% of The X-Factor is about war, standouts are The Aftermath and Heart Of Darkness. So is Clansman on Virtual XI.

They're still great songs, bad singer or no bad singer.

Absolutely not. I've tried to like those two albums for so long and they just plain suck, and would still suck if Bruce never left. The only good songs between the two are Sign Of The Cross, Lord Of The Flies, Man On The Edge, Futureal and The Clansman.

oddly enough the ones Bruce sang live when he came back...

No, The Aftermath beats all those except Sign Of The Cross and maybe Clansman.

Yea, actually I forgot the Aftermath. Personally I don't really like Bruce singing any Blaze songs except The Clansman. They just don't sound right.

to be honest i prefer both X factor and XI to No Prayer For The Dying...

they are not bad albums they are just looked on unfavourably

No Prayer isn't really all that good anyways, there were like 5 good songs on it. The title track is the only one on there that's really great though.
