hollyw00d81 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 I have a couple of em and was always considering buying a GNR machine but they aren't exactly easy to find. I found one at my local pinball dealer that was completely reconditioned, the machine is almost brand new. He wanted 3500 for it but I managed to snag it for 3300, which is actually a pretty damn good price for condition it's in. I'll post pics once it's in my house, it'll be here Monday or Tuesday. Quote
williambailey01 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Nice work, I've got one and it rocks!!I look forward to seeing pics of it.BTW - if you ever need a replacement Axl - Mystery when Lit plastic for it (or the Starburst plastic that sits under it), let me know I have a heap and can fix you up with a nice price for em! hollyw00d81 Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 Actually I do need the Axl Plastic, that's the only thing on this machine that needs replacing. How much for a couple of em? Quote

hollyw00d81 Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 Also, since you have one as well I have a question. The Axl plastic is attached to a kick out. Around that kick out the playfield gets worn. On the machine I purchased, this is the only part of the playfield that doesn't look near new. Does anyone provide a metal protector for that are like the ones they make for the addams family pinball? I'd like to cover it up and protect it from future wear and tear. Thanks Quote

Here is the website of the guy that makes them:http://www.passionforpinball.com/I know other people onsell the ones he makes but if you buy direct from him you should be paying the cheapest price. He also recently added some G Ramp Entrance protectors that he sells for the GN'R pinny as well. I haven't got them yet but have been thinking about buying some since you don't want that ramp cracking!I have sent you a pm re the plastics. Quote

hollyw00d81 Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 Well I just got the call that it was delivered, It's next to my Terminator 2 pinball and my father in law said it was taller than terminator. Although I would imagine a Data East Pinball would look different next to a Williams. I'm going home for lunch to try it out, and I'll post pics tomorrow. Quote

hollyw00d81 Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) at my local pinball dealerYou have a "local pinball dealer"? Odd.Why is that odd, it's called George's Amusements. He has a huge building where he sells Billiard Tables, Slot Machines, Stand Up Arcade Machines, Hook/Crane Games, Ping Pong Tables, Bubble Hockey Machines, and Pinball Tables. He has pretty much anything you'd see in a 70's/80's/90's arcade. He also rents the first floor for birthday parties, there's an arcade on the first floor with some more modern machines and some older ones as well. Here are some quick pics I took last night, I'll post some more detailed ones later.I also uploaded a short video to youtubehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SOr-Sd7GXA Edited March 13, 2008 by hollyw00d81 Quote

ThinkAboutYou Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 (edited) That's one thing i'm missing from my collection is a GNR pinball machineThe GNR pinball has to be my favourite of all timeIn 95 Slash came to Melbourne and I got to play it with the man himself Edited March 18, 2008 by ThinkAboutYou Quote
hollyw00d81 Posted March 18, 2008 Author Posted March 18, 2008 The only problem is the ball seems to get stuck an awful lot. Also when launching the ball it comes back a lot, if the ball isn't centered it hits the sides of the rails and comes back. Such a pain. Quote
