Get the Fuck Out is fun, but, Beggar's Day is a better song, imo, just a better groove to it Quote

But Amazon didn't give me a choice so it is what it is.Well, I like the Stones and The Beatles. AIC are good, too. Can't comment on the others. For some reason I think you might like some of Jewel's music, ER. Listen to Foolish Games and let me know what you think. To me it's a great song, though might not be truly representative as I think she usually uses more acoustic guitar than is on that one song. She's bascially acoustic guitar based folk/pop, and has a great voice and writes poetry which I assume is the basis for most of her lyrics. I haven't heard most of her music, maybe only about 6-8 songs. This is the first album of her's that I own. She seems to be very respected as a song writer so I've got high hopes that I'll enjoy her work. Quote
misch Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Free As A Bird (single) - The BeatlesI love the video of Free as a Bird. The song is fantastic and so is the video with all its references to old Beatles songs. http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=0D196-oXw2k Quote
Zion Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Facelift and Jar Of Flies are killer. My favorites from Facelift are Real Thing,We Die Young, and Man In The Box.Jar Of Flies favorites were the entire album. Seriously their best album next to Dirt imho.Slippery When Wet was alright. I liked New Jersey,Keep The Faith, and These Days better but that's just me.The others I have no opinion on. Quote

KBear Posted March 16, 2008 Author Posted March 16, 2008 I got SWW because that year in school it was the big thing. I used to have it on tape. So for me, it's kinda a nostalgic purchase. And this was Bon Jovi at their best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9f9JnPRqti4 Quote
inthisriver Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Jar of Flies is superb. Great choice, I've been listening to it daily for the last week or so. Most of your other choices are decent too. Quote
Randy Lahey Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 You should buy Sticky Fingers as it's the best rock album of all time, in my opinion. Quote
KBear Posted March 16, 2008 Author Posted March 16, 2008 That's actually why I chose Exile...a lot of people think it's their best album.I've been exposed to a lot of Stones songs over the years, and I like many of them, but the songs I know are mainly from compilations. I haven't actually sat down with any of their albums and listened to them all the way through, so I know I've missed out on a lot. Quote
Randy Lahey Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 (edited) Trust me, Sticky Fingers is their best album. You should also buy Beggars Banquet and Let it Bleed. After that I'd go with Goats Head Soup, It's Only Rock N' Roll, Some Girls, and Get Yer Ya Ya's Out. Don't mind me though, the Stones just happen to be my favorite band. The Stones, The Kinks, Zeppelin, The Doors, CCR, and GNR are my favorite bands of all time. Edited March 16, 2008 by Randy Lahey Quote
wasted Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Exile on Main Street - Stones - yeah definitely I got this again recently.Between the Buttons (U.S. vers) - Stones - maybe would have got Aftermath or Some Girls insteadFacelife - AIC - I have Greatest Hits so...Jar of Flies - AICSlippery When Wet - Bon Jovi - Bruce Sprinsteen is better.Pieces of You - Jewel - I'd hit it.Slave to the Grind - Skid Row - Free As A Bird (single) - The Beatles - Why not? carsonskitz Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 SWW is great, should have also checked out new jersey Quote

You have:Rocks OffTumbling DiceSweeT VirginaTorn N FrayedLoving CupHappyAll Down The LineSoul SurvivorThat's if you being hard on it. Anyway I would get Black N Blue, Undercover, Bridges to Babylon, A Bigger Bang, Some Girls, leave those pseudo bohemian albums to the winos. The good news is...Chinese Democracy has nothing to worry about. That's not gratitude, btw, that's an insult."Won't you be my little baby for a while" Quote
