STONE TEMPLE PILOTS: First Reunion Concert Footage Posted Online - Apr. 8, 2008

The first fan-filmed video footage has surfaced of the reunited STONE TEMPLE PILOTS' first show in almost eight years, which took place on Monday (April 7) in the Hollywood Hills.

The band performed a half-dozen hits during a 30-minute set, including opener "Big Empty" (see clip below), "Vasoline" and "Interstate Love Song", all of which are taken from STP's second album, 1994's "Purple".

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS yesterday revealed the details of their 65-city tour, set to begin May 17 in Columbus, Ohio. As previously announced, the trek will kick off with a headlining appearance at the Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio. [The exact cities and dates will be released shortly.]

"The story's not finished," singer Scott Weiland told The Associated Press. "There's more to be revealed and more to be told."

Guitarist Dean DeLeo said the band plans to record a new album after the tour, which is set to wrap in November.

The band will make its first national TV appearance since reuniting on the May 1 edition of ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"

Just one more reason Slash and the others had to make it crystal clear to fans last week that Scott was gone and they were moving on.

Probably wanted to send a strong signal to the record company as well...

let it all out Scott  ......haha i cant wait for the dirty laundry to come out :rofl-lol:

It's not sure that he was talking about VR. If you take a look at the Associated Press story there's no reference to VR, he is just talking about the fact that STP is back:

Yeah, took it to mean he was talkin' about the STP story. The "missing bookend" he's referenced in the past.

But don't worry, Funral, you'll get some more mud slinging or at least dirt tossing in future interviews. You won't be cheated as they didn't make Scott sign a 1,000 page confidentiality agreement when he signed. Finck must be sooo jealous...

I noticed that one little clip where Scott says "I don't want to get into a competition thing"..

I would think that was in reference to VR...which is cool.

If it's over,it's over...let it be...move on...drop the silly little internet wars.

watching the clip zint posted (thanks) to me, it feels like he's back in where he belonged, you know? like he came back home.

those guys should do music together...the chemistry is right and dean is such a cool person and just want to rock with scott again...

maybe scott needed some time apart to do other things to really appreciate what he had and still have with stp.

as for his vocals, I thought they were a bit rusty but I think he just needs a little time to get used to the material again.

but it's really fuckin' cool to see them on stage again.

Agreed, he seems less pressured and more comfortable around this band.

Watching the interview clips in that pro shot footage, did none of that ring kind of hollow to any of you?

Sometimes they looked down or wouldn't even look at each other, some of the "yeah this is great,we're musicians, this is what we do" comments just seemed insincere to me somehow.

I'm not convinced of the motives, sincerity and or longevity of this..

But hey, rock out to it while it's here...gonna be a long time gone.

Scotts voice isn't as good as it could be. Plush sounded like a VR cover. Hopefully over time, Scotts voice will morph back to the way it was before VR. I may just be biased but I'm also loving the vibe they have both on and off stage. Then again, appearances can be deceiving.

I thought they looked fine. When Dean was interviewed, he did look a bit flustered, and he's normally pretty good in interviews. But besides that, they all looked pretty happy to be there (well, as happy as rockstars can be)

It's not like Scott really sang differently when in Velvet Revolver. He's 40 now and has smoked about a million cigarettes, so I don't imagine he'll be sining the way he did on 'Core' anytime soon.

His voice definitely sounded stronger at the start of the Libertad tour, though.
