FunkyMonk Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 (edited) Probably not, but it's still amazing. I've been listening to this album over and over for the last week and it hasn't lost it's magic. For a while back I had myself convinced that Dio>Ozzy, but how wrong I was. Perfect album from start to finish. I think my fave track has to be Hand of Doom , even with all the monster tracks on it like War Pigs and Iron Man I still have to say Hand of Doom is brilliant. Iommi is god.(Oh and special props to Geezer for being out-of-this-world awesome). Edited April 9, 2008 by FunkyMonk Quote

Spuffy78 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I preferred "Sticky Fingers" by The Stones. But that's just my preference. After that "Night At The Opera" then "Dark Side..."Agreed with Sticky Fingers, Dark Side, Rocks etc.I always liked Master Of Reality over Paranoid that might just be me I dunno. Quote
FunkyMonk Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 I would shove The Ramones debut up with the best album of the 70's (and their next 2/3 releases). Although this is supposed to be more of a thread about Paranoid rather than the best album of the 70's , but we'll see how it goes. Quote

Powerage5 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 First Sabbath album is the best after The Mob Rules. My top 10 albums of the 70's would be:1. A Night At The Opera - Queen2. Sticky Fingers - The Rolling Stones (Tied with ANATO)3. Love It To Death - Alice Cooper (VERY underrated album IMO)4. Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath5. Who's Next - The Who6. Never Mind The Bollocks - Sex Pistols7. Rocket To Russia - The Ramones8. TNT - AC/DC9. Get Your Wings - Aerosmith10. Van Halen - Van Halen Quote
Zint Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Personally speaking,I can think of tons of albums that I thought were better in the 70's.But it had it's place.. Quote

Caught In A Dream and Long Way To Go are forgotten classic Cooper tracks and should be played live some day (I don't think either one has ever been played live?). I remember hearling Long Way To Go in Lords Of Dogtown back in like 2005 and I could never figure out whose song it was until last fall when I got into Cooper after seeing him open for Heaven And Hell twice.I don't have Killer yet, but I love Under My Wheels, Be My Lover, Killer and Dead Babies, I just need to find it somewhere. Spuffy78 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Caught In A Dream is the first Cooper track I ever heard and it had me hooked. Hopefully he plays more of his older stuff now that he's not opening and doesn't have a set time slot. If you can't find it download it you won't be sorry. Quote
FunkyMonk Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 I almost forget how many awesome albums came out of the 70's with AC/DC, Aerosmith,The Who and heaps more. Normally when I think of the 70's I go "urgh, Zeppelin and Floyd", probably because that's who most people mention but I personally dislike. Quote

Just my preference.Other 70's top fav's of mine, Creedence's "Cosmo's Factory", Zeppelin's "Physical Graffiti", and The Eagles "Hotel California". Quote
