I agree with people who say that there is definately room for both, completely different genres etc, and I also think its likely that in this hypothetical situation the hype would feed off each other in a sort of, return of the the legends sort of deal. My main point though, is, that from where I'm standing even if MJ did steal the spotlight and affect GNR's hype - why should we care? I'm well and used to GNR not being the most popular band out there as most people here probably are as well. I'd just be glad to have the god forsaken album out.
