chicagocoma13
This was an amazing tour--- The show I saw was better than the reunion IMHO---I saw this in Chicago at the UNited Center and they did a 20 minute scorching version of Whole Lotta Love---- A much better show than they did with the full unplugged band in 95 (Although that was a killer show too) That 98 show in Chicago I'm talking about is how I want to remember them----
Randy Lahey
I saw the Vancouver show on that tour. They broke into Down By The Seaside during the middle of How Many More Times. It was stellar.
JONEZY
I saw a show on this tour. It was awesome.Would have been better if John Paul Jones was there, still pissed about that.

moreblack
it would've been better with JPJ maybe a little, very little, because this was almost flawless. Plus from their standpoint, no JPJ = no Zeppelin = no pressure.
Randy Lahey
John Paul Jones' solo album "Zooma" was better than the Page and Plant "Walking Into Clarksdale" album. It's a shame they all didn't work together. I know it would have been killer. Edited July 2, 2008 by Randy Lahey
moreblack
if I never have to hear "Please read the letter that I wrote" ever again in life I'll be a blessed man.The live version on When The World Was Young is quite good though.

Death Star
Page and Plant recently in 2008 re-recorded the Immigant Song for a I think a benefit album called Arbitrary Tune. It has a new intro too.A-Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh! Ahhhhhhhh! In my opinion it is just as good the original. in my opinion

I purchased it off iTunes. It is under "Robert Plant, Jimmy Page". But I put it in my Page & Plant section for easier organization.

It was great but not as good as Chicago 98 IMHOWell, something tells me your opinion might be a little different if you went to the concert. In my opinion, only having heard both forms bootleged, I think that the 98 shows were much less strained and really lots of 'fun'. The reunion show was obviously labored and in my opinion, better musically. Shame I've only gotten to see Robert twice in 04 with the Strange Sensation and this summer with Alison Krause and JPJ last year with a Superjam, but I'm not complaining. On a side note, I think that JPJ adds much more than people think to Zeppelin than most people think. He, in my eyes, is the most musically inclined and diverse of the group. Pagey had flare, entertainment, and charisma...Plant has the howl, the sex appeal, and larger than life image on stage...Bonzo had the mania, the rage, the ball of passion...but JPJ had the extreme musical exactitude, and classical suave that pieced it all together. Nothing replaced that.On a side note to a side note, Walking Through Clarkesdale, in my eyes proves the above statement. I actually liked Please Read the Letter much more on the Alison Krause colab. TBone is a wiz.
moreblack
I wish I could gather up the courage to hear that song again, even if it's a new version. But the song is absolute shite, it'll have to stay in my memories. The thing about JPJ is, by being there he removes the need for any and all additional musicians. That's pretty cool. chicagocoma13
I don't know how to link things but one of my fav Page /PLant live performances is Wearing n Tearing from Knebworth 1990. You can view pro concert footage on youtube. SCORCHING version. PLant's band in backing them up--- and I do love John Paul Jones and know how important he is to the mix
moreblack
that was a nice appearance by Page, he came on and did Misty Mountain Hop and Rock And Roll that day as well.
chicagocoma13
Yeah I've had this on VHS tape for many years. I forgot how good Misty was too. Rock N Roll I thought was just so so
