Petition asking Bono to retire launches

Nearly $400 has been pledged so far

An online petition asking for U2 frontman Bono to "retire from public life" has so far raised $390.

The petition is published on Thepoint.com.

It's stated aim is: "To get Bono to retire from public life (so he'll stop leading misguided counter-productive philanthropy efforts)."

The petition's creator also declared that all money raised will be given to charity, depending on the success of the petition.

The creator states: "We will give money to Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

"But we will only pay if we meet our objective."

U2 are currently putting the finishing touches to their new album, the follow-up to 2004's 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb'.

Maddox's article on Bono and U2 is still one of my favourites.

...[the band's] guitarist "The Edge." Yeah, that's his nickname: The Edge. I used to think names like "The Edge" or "Spike" were cool, but then I turned 12.

The only way I could ever respect him is if he shouted some stupid catch phrase before every concert like "WATCH OUT! THE EDGE WILL CUT YOU!" That might almost be stupid enough to be cool again with the dumbass hipster crowd, until the next stupid trend shows up at Hot Topic for you to oversaturate and ruin.

Wow, $400. Like Bono gives a shit.

So the whole internet came together and raised enough money to buy two tickets to one U2 concert.

:rofl-lol::rofl-lol::rofl-lol:

Really....there are some really bitter people out there....the man is trying to do good...if you don't like his cause, don't fucking support it, that simple.
