Iron Maiden vs Metallica

Here's a tough one (IMO) , both rock and have been around for over 20 years and have contributed some of the best hard rock/metal songs and albums to the genre and have a big influence on many , anyway It's a real tough choice esepecially when you compare them in the 80's but I'm going with Maiden because of the recent albums and what has gone on with the two bands in recent years .

Maiden by far, Metallica's music has no tune or melody to it all really apart from the black album, and when they tried to experiment the put out the shitty load albums whereas when maiden did the same they released the excellent seventh son of a seventh son.

Metallica is better. Maiden never evolved. All their albums are just the same music over and over again. It's good metal don't get me wrong, a bit bubble gum metal if you ask me, very melodic...but nowhere near Metallica.

Maiden indefinately , mettalica i didnt mind before but since there new cd came out i dont like them there trying to be up beat and "new age heavy" it just doesnt sound like the old progressive mettalica metal of before

I had to go with Maiden. I like Metallica's old music but the guys are a bunch of pussies. They have evolved more as a band though, the only problem is that they have evolved into a crappier band instead of into a better one.

Hammet doesn't play even nintento (get it?) Murray is a much skilled guitar player and Metallica sold their asses out to MTV. that was sad. And I'm a 80s Metallica fan, tought.

i saw them live and they blew my fucking brains out. I have heard metallica on stereo and they dont rock my world but when I hear Maiden I just love it, those distinct guitar medieval esque melodic riffs that send shivers down my spine, those powerful booming intense vocals from Dickinson, just is so awesome. Maiden are just the best. Up the Irons
