Lithium
Anyone else excited for this? The main theme is life in California, which instantly brings a good vibe to it due to the thoughts you get of his Beach Boys work. Should be interesting. Black Monk Time
Has it leaked yet? I'll definitely be listening to it if it has.
Lithium
I don't think so. But it's less than a week until it's released, so there's not a long wait.
Black Monk Time
Here's a web stream of the entire album if you're interested: http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/20...on-tracks_N.htmEdit: Just finished listening to it. I like it; it's a very solid album. Those narrative things are fucking annoying, though, and it starts to drop off after "Oxygen to the Brain", but apart from that it's pretty good. Lithium
Cool. Can't wait to check it out. The critics say that it's his best solo album if you look away from Smile.
Leisure Rules
cool I'm looking forward to it as well
Black Monk Time
I've not heard any of his solo albums out side of this and Smile. Any good, Lithium?Anyway, I'm so glad this album's come out; not only is it a damn good album, it's reignited my interest in the Beach Boys after not listening to them for years. Pet Sounds, in particular. Edited September 2, 2008 by Black Monk Time

Any good, Lithium?Anyway, I'm so glad this album's come out; not only is it a damn good album, it's reignited my interest in the Beach Boys after not listening to them for years. Pet Sounds, in particular. His solo career is somewhat a disappointment considering what a genius he really is. If I had to put all his work under one word, it would be "mediocre" If you're looking for music on par with some of the better Beach Boys albums, like Pet Sounds, Wild Honey and Smiley Smile, Brian's solo work, besides Smile, is not the place to look. I still have yet to listen to it - I can't find it on any torrent sites, and I can't be bothered buying the CD. And I'm glad your interest in The Beach Boys has reappeared - they had a great run of albums in the '60s. Pet Sounds is one of the best albums ever made - anyone who have heard that album can't deny that.
Lithium
Finally found a decent torrent of it. I'm about halfway through it, and I can already say it's one of my favourite releases of 2008.
axlfan88
Some songs are embarrassing (Mexican Girl...) and his voice is not good anymore. Not his best solo album.Orange Crate Art is better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-r2-b8DfI4I Just Wasn't Made for These Times is quite interesting too.
