NICKELBACK ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM

New York, NY, September 4, 2008 - Roadrunner Records announced today the upcoming new album from multi-platinum rock powerhouse Nickelback. The band is currently recording the follow-up to 2005's massively successful All The Right Reasons with famed rock producer Mutt Lange (AC/DC, Def Leppard) in their homebase of Vancouver, B.C. The album is set for release on November 18, 2008. The first single, "If Today Was Your Last Day" will impact at all radio formats on September 30th.

Roadrunner and Nickelback have enjoyed unprecedented success during their ten-year partnership. The band has sold upwards of 26 million records worldwide, with All The Right Reasons accounting for 10 million of that total. In addition, the six singles from the album totaled 9.3 million downloads and 5.5 million ringtones. All proceeds of digital single and video sales for the song "If Everyone Cared" between February 1 and July 31, 2007 were donated to charity, equally distributed between Amnesty International and International Childrens' Awareness Canada. Each of the five videos from All The Right Reasons has reached #1 on VH1's playlist: "Photograph," "Savin' Me," "Far Away," "If Everyone Cared" and "Rockstar." In 2006 Nickelback was awarded a World Music Award for "World's Best Rock Group," a Billboard Touring Award for "Breakthrough Artist," an American Music Award for "Favorite Pop/Rock Album" and a People's Choice Award for "Best Rock Group."

Both Roadrunner and Nickelback are looking forward to the start of a new album cycle and future success together.

Wooo, Silver Side Up was good,The Long Road was better and All The Right Reasons was one of the best albums of this decade. Lets hope they continue their upward streak.

All The Right Reasons was one of the best albums of this decade.

Having one of the best albums of this decade isn't really a huge accomplishment, relative to past decades :). That said, it's still a pretty big deal. But, and this is a big but, there is no way, even after accounting for taste differences, that All The Right Reasons qualifies for a title like that.

NONE, KRISSIRGE!

:anger:

That said, even as much as I hate Nickelback, those are impressive sales figures for this industry. Imagine what 10 million in 2005-2008 might have garnered 25 years ago.

It wouldn't have garnered anything, there were good bands selling that many albums 25 years ago. Nowadays it seems good bands hardly sell anything, while shitty bands like Nickeback sells millions.
