Death Star Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I am digging Boston at the moment. I am really enjoying "Piece Of Mind". It is a great tune! Great classic rock. Quote

Shuffle Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Their first album is class despite it's reputation, it's the only thing I've heard by them. Quote

Zint Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 First album was great. It was an exciting sound when it came out...had promise.Didn't care about them after that...the calibre of the songs slipped. Quote
moreblack Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 that first album is required listening. Quote
JONEZY Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I like the first 3 albums. Tom Scholz pulled an Axl Rose after the 2nd album/tour in 1978. He didn't release the 3rd album until 1986. At the time it was an eternity between albums. Doesn't seem so long now with what Axl has done. Anyway, everyone left the band during the hiatus except for Delp. I saw them once in 1986 and it was a great concert, sound wise. Visually it wasn't much. Band members went on stage in T-shirts and shorts. But the sound was great. Lost interest after that. Quote
appetite4illusions Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Boston's debut album is probably the solidest debut album any band could ask for. The only other debuts I can think that even come close are AFD & Definitley Maybe. But everything beyond that first album was crap in my humblest of opinions. Quote
Binge_And_Slash Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Wasn't too keen on Corporate America (A new singer? What were they thinking!) But love self-titled up until The Third Stage Quote
DCGNR Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 One of the most annoying sounding bands everKinda a cross between the Doobie Brothers and a Zep Cover band - only gayer Quote

The only other debuts I can think that even come close are AFD & Definitley Maybe. It's a good album, but come oonnn. The Doors, Are You Experienced, The Clash, The Velvet Underground & Nico... I can mention a thousand debuts that are musically superior to Boston's. Quote
