Graeme
I've never seen any mention of these guys on the board before so I'll assume I'm the only fan of what I feel to be the qunitessential pop-rock act of the last few years. I don't think they've broached the big time yet, but they deserve to. Really inventive melodies, heartfelt lyrics, perfect hooks all combine to mean they really grabbed my attention from the first listen. With perfect pop songs like UncannyThe best vocal harmonies I've ever heard in The Unwinding Cable CarAnd more complex rockers like Dismantle Repair and the epic Finthey're an act really worthy of your attention. Obviously not everybody's cup of tea but I hope at least someone comes away from this thread with a new found love for these guys.Only annoying thing about them is the people who take some of the religious themes in their music too far, yes, two members of the band are Christians but it doesn't make all their music super pious/religious. This is coming from a Christian but it does feel ridiculous getting smothered with "praise the lord" comments from bible-belt fantatics when reading the comments of a youtube video. They are first and foremost a rock n roll band. With that in mind, please ignore the idiots and enjoy.
FunkyMonk
They sound like a christian rock band TBH. Not my sort of music either way.
Graeme
They sound like a christian rock band TBH. Not my sort of music either way.I was frightened if I mentioned religion everyone would run away with this idea and write them off like that. When i think of Christian rock I think of Ned Flanders in a band., something watered down, happy clappy and super lame There's nothing like that with these guys. I just see them as a rock band, and tbh if no one had told me they were supposedly a "christian rock" band, I'd never have noticed.
FunkyMonk
Lol I didn't mean it like that. I mean, I wasn't even listening to the lyrics to know if they were singing about god or anything, but they just have that typical Christian rock sound. They weren't terrible, I mean I listened to the whole first song, it's just not my sort of music.EDIT: Listening to Fin right now. It was pretty good actually, very decent song. It would've been a really good song if they had of put a solo in at about the 4:16 mark, that would've just put the song over the edge. Also, that upload of Fin's missing the ending of the songFin- Full version For me it makes it more powerful, but for all I know it could make it drag on. Glad you gave them a second chance anyways! Enjoy.
