Marky
Led Zeppelin will tour with a replacement for founding singer Robert Plant, bassist John Paul Jones has confirmed.Earlier this month it was reported that the rock legends were rehearsing with singer Myles Kennedy after Plant refused to consider touring with the band.Jones has now told BBC Radio Devon that the band are trying out "a couple" of alternative singers for a proposed tour."We want to do it," he explained. "It's sounding great and we want to get on and get out there."The bassist added that he and his bandmates were not after a Plant soundalike. "It's got to be right," Jones said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be on board." There has been speculation about the possibility of a full Led Zeppelin tour since they played a reunion show on December 10 last year at the London O2 Arena.Robert Plant ruled himself out of a tour by releasing a statement last month saying he would not be part of any such plans. Spoon87
Nu Led Zeppelin starts now!
DirtyDeeds
It's only rock 'n' roll. Everyone makes it seem like.... I dunno.... I can't even find a good analogue. But everyone makes it sound so damn important and a matter of personal dignity or something. It's just a rock show. That said, I'd prefer Plant, but whatever. I'd see this. stevGNR666
I'm not against it, but I wouldn't shell out as much money given the chance to buy tickets.
Hampi
I'm not against it, but I wouldn't shell out as much money given the chance to buy tickets.Yeh its essentially just a poor mans version of that, "unleaded," tour that Page/Plant did in the 90s. Lithium
I fail to see the logic in this - they broke up due to the death of the drummer, and re-unite without the singer and frontman?
bt88
Is it a little ironic to talk shit about this on a Guns N Roses forum?
chevelle
FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCKThis is VERY wrong. The whole reason they broke up in 1980 was because they'd never replace anyone, but now they'll have a different singer and drummer. And Jkruk, it's not ironic, because GN'R didn't break up when Adler got kicked out, did they?
moreblack
Almost ANY singer they get will be an improvement over 2008-Plant.I'm definitely looking forward to this, because when was the last time Jimmy Page got out there to tour and record new stuff? Almost 10 years ago. And if he can work with JPJ and come up with some kick ass new tunes, I'm all for it.

moreblack
Funny, Guns without Slash isn't GN'R to you, but Led Zep without Plant is Led Zep.Where did he say that?Exactly, if you read my posts on the multiple topics about Page/Jones/Bonham Jr. working together, you'd see that I'm thinking they probably won't call it Led Zeppelin. And if that's the case, then it's pretty wide open as to who could sing for them. See, the press assumes that because it is those 3, that it's for sure gonna be Zeppelin. I haven't heard any statements from the people involved that they're going to use the name for sure 100%. Page/Plant didn't.Hey ER, way to post one of the very few songs they didn't have to tune waaay down to compensate for Percy's lack of range. Zeppelin
I'd rather see Plant/Krauss if this is the case.
BrandNewCadillac
I wouldn't mind if they don't call it 'Led Zeppelin'. I hope they don't, anyway.
Randy Lahey
These guys won't call it Led Zeppelin. I'll definitely go see this though. Jimmy Page on guitar and JPJ on bass, I'm there! Axl should delay the Chinese Democracy tour and go out with these guys.

Powerage5
I'm not one to bash when bands replace key members, hell, Queen + Paul Rodgers was one of the best shows I've ever seen. But this is just fucking stupid. Robert Plant is Led Zeppelin, more so than Jimmy Page or Bonham. I would probably go to a show, just to see Page and JPJ doing their magic together, but I wouldn't buy an album.

It's probably the only band that would rather break up than find a new drummer when he died.
