BrandNewCadillac
Lately, I've been listening to a lot of The Killers, Santogold and Bloc Party ... stuff like that. Electronica, I guess I would call it. I'm really itching to explore that genre further, but I'm unsure where to go from here. Does anyone who's into this sort of music have any artist or album recommendations they would be willing to share? I would really appreciate it. Guest Satanisk_Slakt
Don't listen to them, but I found this on Wikipedia. Main indie rock genres after 2000 * Post-punk revival: Placebo, Arctic Monkeys[1], Maxïmo Park, Franz Ferdinand[1], Editors, The Cribs, The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, TV on the Radio, Bloc Party, The Futureheads, Interpol, Boy Kill Boy, Dirty Pretty Things, Kill Hannah, The FratellisTry those bands. They probably sound pretty alike. Edited November 18, 2008 by Satanisk_Slakt
Lithium
Try Primal Scream. Screamadelica is a good start. Oh, and Blues Lines by Massive Attack. Edited November 18, 2008 by Lithium
Yamisonic
Some: Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Strokes, Wombats, Arctic Monkeys, Libertines, you might like U2, I really don’t. I’ll post some more later, indie rock is my favourite
Marky
Primal Scream - Anything like XTRMNTR or Screamadelica. There's also a song on they're album Riot City Blues called 'Little Death', which is superb.MGMT - Oracular SpectacularFreindly Fires - Friendly FiresBeck - Any of his really, it's so experimental, pushing boundaries. Can't go wrong with those. Superfuzz
Beck - Any of his really, it's so experimental, pushing boundaries. You've gained so much respect from me, markyboy. Beck's not electronica, but I recommend him nonetheless. He's very experimental and I guarantee he'll have at least a couple songs you'll like.As the above mentioned, listen to The Prodigy. Fat of the land is a good start, then try Music for the Jilted Generation... and just spread from there. The Prodigy are more electronica than Bloc Party, Killers and whatever else you mentioned hope to be.
Bansidhe
2 of my favourite albums which could be classed as electronica are Dummy by Portishead & U.F.Orb by The Orb. The Orb is by far the most experimental.
