Gallagher Rose
What a crap musical decade we have since 2000.. I can list 4 or 5 great albums like Chinese Democracy, Is This It, Dig Out Your Soul, Back to Black and some other good albums, but that's all. I was listening to "Somewhere in England" from George Harrison and it's easily better than almost all the current music out there. We are full of shit music like Akon, Soulja Boy, Tokio Hotel, Jonas gay Brothers and Kanye West nowadays, it's the worst decade for music, ever. Lithium
Well. of course, if you only look at the über-boring mainstream pop crap like you do, all you'll see is shite. It's been like that for every decade. Expand your horizon.

I've liked this past decade. of course there's been stuff I'd call crap, but there's been plenty I've liked. and just like someone said: "expand your horizon" lollots of my favorite bands came out in the last 10 years. My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars, Coldplay, The White Stripes, The Strokes. and some other really good bands, like Thirteen Senses, Travis, Stereophonics, Oasis, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Maroon 5, The Used, Panic at the Disco (among others I cant think of atm).. have all released what imo have been GREAT albums.and hey, the Jonas Brothers arent gay, they have some pretty catchy songs!! xD

Ant
I think the 20teens is going to be the real musical disaster. At least this decade we got some great releases from acts established in the 90's and a bit earlier. Edited November 24, 2008 by Ant

At least this decade we got some great releases from acts established in the 90's and a bit earlier.People said the same about all previous decades. It's understandable that a lot of you don't enjoy the music of this decade, though - this is, after all, a forum dedicated to a band who had its heyday in the '80s/'90s. Ant
Well, I don't feel like I'm saying the exact same thing as a lot of older people do when they can't relate to contemporary music anymore. I've got groups I've loved from every decade spanning back to the 60's -- I'm not preaching some form of unreasonable nostalgia here. It just seems like this decade is unique in that there has been some major and unfortunate trends and shifts in how the recording industry scouts, signs, and develops talent -- partially in the wake of the whole digital download thing. Like I said, this decade wasn't all bad, but if the recording industry doesn't make some changes I think the next 10 years is going to be pretty crumby.Just my opinion, though.
