bt88
Is anyone else big into this Genre? besides Dillinger, Im talking bands like Between the Buried and Me, Converge, Fall of Troy, Protest The Hero and to a lesser extent Mastodon, Meshuggah and Into Eternity. (Lesser only meaning in musical similarity, Mastodon is probably the best band in this list). Essentially metal bands who employ crazy time signatures into their music and are extremely talented musically but play such an aggressive sound they most likely wont ever get major exposure. is anyone a fan of this stuff or can reccomend any bands in this vain? Seeing it live is weird because the music is so complex so some of the bands tend not to move around. Only some though, as Dillinger is one of the craziest live bands out there
GUNSNROSES513
damiera. More of their first two albums though for what you want but I like the third one the best. Damiera is my uncles band and they went of tour with Portagul The Man, Tera Melos, and Fall of Troy.

AbominableHoman
I bet musicsnobs clamor to this type of shit; "Essentially metal bands who employ crazy time signatures into their music and are extremely talented musically but play such an aggressive sound they most likely wont ever get major exposure."I don't care how technical it is, if it doesn't sound good. DirtyDeeds
I don't care if you call me close-minded or whatever. Truly I don't. Because I will never ever listen to a type of music that calls itself "mathcore," no matter how much I dig calculus.

I know who you mean, its really annoying. I like a good Bruce Springsteen rock song as much as the next guyI just happened to dig the technical sound too. Its interesting music. And the mathcore label is a media term I dont find any of these bands pride themselves on that label. It was just a blanket statement. wasted
Miss Machine by Dilinger Escape Plan is great record, it's not really about being complex for it's own sake, it just sounds like the computers have taken over the world.
sweetness
I love it, hate the name math core though hahaWhat I dont like is the shit thats essentially just noise, which is how i'd describe some of Dillinger Escape Plan. Milk Lizard is a cool ass fuckin song thoughNumber 12 Looks Like You is shit too, cant get into thatBut The Fall of Troy, Fear Before The March of Flames, and Between The Buried and Me are easily some of the best bands of this decadeBring Me The Horizon's Count Your Blessings also has some good technical shit too. Its more Deathcore but that album is insane
