Dead Flower Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I realise I'm super late to the party and this thread will make me desperately uncool...But does anyone else think the first single is just completely boss? There's nothing else on the radio that sounds anything like this. The beats are fucking incredible and combine with the vocal melody so well. I love the tribal drums throughout the song, too.http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVZX-W3vo9IHow's the rest of the album. Quote

wasted Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I've seen that video on MTV everynight. It's sort of like a Paul Simon song Graceland, a hip hop version.I prefered his video where he kills that chick and puts her in his truck. most of his videos are pretty good tho.Stronger was great single. Axl should cover that live. Quote
pain cake Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Kanye West is awesome, if he wasn't black he'd be as cool as the Gallaghers Quote
Lithium Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I love it like I love the rest of 808s and Heartbreak. Kanye is an excellent producer, and together with Bhasker, he makes the sound really clean, as well as bringing a nice flow to it. 808s & Heartbreak is definitely one of the most interesting records of this year; like Indy said, Kanye is very unpredictable, and he makes the whole concept of the album really cool and interesting. Nobodys_Fault Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 One of my favourite albums of the year. Maybe not the best decisions to drench every word with autotune but it works surprising well.My friend showed me pictures of his kidsAnd all I could show him was pictures of my cribsHe said his daughter got a brand new report cardAnd all I got was a brand new sports car Quote
Kickingthehabit Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 How's the rest of the album. It's like a hip hop Nine Inch Nails record with Michael Jackson's pop sensibilities. It shouldn't work, but it does. Like many, I abhor this sudden fascination with autotune, but I think it's done really tastefully on the album. Conceptually, it reminds me of The Love Below by Andre 3000; a kind of bizarre, Frankenstein monster that doesn't fit in with their previous material or abide by the restrictions of their genre. Unfortunately, a lot of people have written it off too quickly, but I think it will be remembered as one of the most interesting albums of the decade..Top Three:Street LightsRobocopSay You Will-Kickingthehabit Quote
estranged 16 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 i prefer the techno remix of the song. but im really liking 'heartless' lately Quote
