Randy Lahey
The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady is my favorite jazz album along with In A Silent Way by Miles Davis. Anybody else into these albums? They are great to throw on late at night and are really good for setting a dark ambient atmosphere. The Black Saint and The Sinner Lady reminds me of The Shining when Jack is sitting in the bar. Estranged Reality
I love that album, but my favourite Mingus record is Mingus Ah Um - they're both awesome though.
Guest deleted_19765
You ought to listen to Monk. Hell, everyone should. I could recommend a lot of other people but Thelonious just had such a unique and brilliant way of creating music that it'd be easier for a newcomer to Jazz to understand the appeal in.
