Graeme
You hate some of it and love some of it? Like there are parts of it that are awful, but in placesx it's so good that you'll listen to it regardless? Most people talk about either loving/hating a song but this is different. I first encountered this with an Eagles song called "Business as Usual" where I loved the intro but was not a fan at all of the rest of the song, but that was minor.Recently I've discovered this song called Selkies: The Endless Obsession by Between the Buried and Me. There's one section of this song that's utter shite, deathcore crap, basically unmelodic downtuned guitars thundering over drums that keep changing tempo with screaming so distorted you can't understand any of it (and I love a good death growl but this just seems too far.) The Intro's okay, some weird almost Dream Theatre type stuff with keyboards, but when it reaches 3:55 it becomes one of the most beautiful and stunning pieces of music I've ever heard. The harmonies are just amazing.Check it out, see if you share my love/hate for this. Selkies: The Endless Obsession
Projected
IRS - Intro and Chorus are pretty awfull. But the whole thing going on during: "Feeling like I've done way more than wrong, feelin' like I'm living inside of this song... etc" is fucking amazing. dann
I feel that way about every Pink Floyd song. Like Time for example. The verse is excellent, then the rest, eh...
Agent Jeffries
Ted Nugent's "Snakeskin Cowboys"I only listen to the intro and the first few words of the first verse so I can hear the "Ooooh Snakeskin cowboys," but I move on right after that. Yamisonic
The middle part of Better sucks so much, the metal thing
Marky
I've gotta agree with you on that one. Also, on Viva La Vida, there's a song called '42', which basically has 3 parts, a slow part, a faster bit with slightly odd timing, and a bit of an anthemic bit. I dislike the anthemic bit, it dun'd fit really.
Projected
On Viva La Vida - I hate the whole fucking bullshit of an album. Except when he says "You can be a big fish, in a little pond". That's the highlight of the album.
worldwideboss
Metallica's Hero of the Day is awesome, except for the ending. It shouldn't end in such a heavy note, IMO.
appetite4illusions
The other day I heard 311's "Come Original" on the radio and was reminded of what a pretty good ditty it is, then the rapping part starts and it just flat out kills the song. Zeppelin
The Prophet's Song by Queen. I love the song until it gets near the end and many parts are repeated over and over. It's an 8-minute song and most of it is so good, but that part always makes me change it. Edited December 22, 2008 by Zeppelin
