DirtyDeeds Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I'm just suggesting a politics sub section for Anything Goes since at any time there's at least five political threads on the first page and it is probably the most popular topic on the forum, maybe even more popular than Gn'R Quote
Spuffy78 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 We got a sub-section for Questions for Axl so I don't see why not? Quote
Budweiser Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I think I've asked for this a long time ago and it wasn't a good idea (I think). Quote
Marky Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I suppose I could get used to that, but I don't mind it as it is. I'm very supportive of Obama, and I like stressing that. I do get tired of Shades' bullshit though. Quote
Guest Satanisk_Slakt Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I'm not saying it's not a good idea, but this has been suggested many times last months. Madison has said no every time, so I can't see why she would say anything different now. Quote

Wando Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 We got a sub-section for Questions for Axl so I don't see why not?And subsections for every tourdate in 2006-07 Which are completly useless. I don't think there is even one post made in 2009, or +10 in 2008 in those sections. They should split AG to a more serious section and one where to post more "light" stuff. It would be very nice to see someone else besides madison reply too, surely all of the moderators have a say in creating new sections? Hell, on most forums if enough users ask for a subsection they'll make one and see how it works. You can always remove a subforum, which isn't working, needed etc. Quote
Wando Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Kinda like /b/ and /r9k/Yep, but without the porno. Quote

Guest Satanisk_Slakt Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 (edited) I was not trying to sound like an ass against Madison by the way, I just remember it like that. Might be different, I don't know. I found it: http://www.mygnrforum.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=2154105The political threads add intelligent discussion to the section. -Laura- Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Many of the more mature people on the forum aren't interested in posting in threads, such as how many times you threw up at a party last night ( *Yes, that's actually a thread right now). Quote

kevin Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Bad thing about splitting up anything goes is the "non serious" one would kinda become a spam board. Full of shitty topics. Half of them from me, the other from honky. It's better to have it how it is imo. Quote
Guest Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Well then why not make a Sports sub section as well? Or how about a film and TV sub section? I mean where would it end? It's not like you have 50 topics a day on politics cluttering up Anything Goes. You can easily discuss politics in there. For me, I don't see the point in introducing one since the system we have now works fine. Quote
Guest Satanisk_Slakt Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I don't really mind it either. When the situation was worst (Late October, beginning of November), there were to many in my opinion. I didn't open them, and you don't have to read stuff you find uninteresting, but the thing was that it bumped away everything else to the next side. Quote

And we do have an awful lot of stuff cluttering up Anything Goes. Politics/World News might be the better title. Quote
DirtyDeeds Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 Bud supports it; it's good as done. Quote
Budweiser Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I support if not for any other reason than to spare the "normal" people in Anything Goes my political bullshit. Quote
DirtyDeeds Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 I support if not for any other reason than to spare the "normal" people in Anything Goes my political bullshit. You're the least of the political bullshitters. I don't know if that will be a relief to you or maybe you're disappointed you're not #1. There are certain members that make it pretty frustrating in there because it's impossible to avoid, other than not coming to the forum, which isn't an option. Quote

Guest Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 (edited) Well then why not make a Sports sub section as well? Or how about a film and TV sub section? Why not? We have a music sub-section.Yes but since this is a Guns N' Roses forum, you'd think everybody who joined this forum enjoys music Therefore that section is catered towards all members of this board, not just 2 dozen so members who like to delve into political discussions.I think the two major factors at play here are:--There is enough space in Anything Goes already to satisfy your political discussion needs. Most other broad topics have just be condensed down into 1 thread (Film Thread, Soccer Thread etc.) so there's no reason why you couldn't just set up a Political Thread in there already.-The subsection being proposed would only benefit a small percentile of members on this board. The demand for political discussions isn't that great that it merits its own subsection.Of course also, by allowing a political subsection it should allow for other sections to be made. Sport and TV & Film are just as popular as political debates on this forum so then shouldn't they be allowed to have their own subsections? Where would you draw the line as to allowing subsections? And if these subsections were made, the main section of Anything Goes would become pointless.Edit- I do think it's time to get rid of those tour date subsections, they are utterly pointless and never used anymore.
