I've pretty much always hated power metal, believing that it was just ripping off Maiden and taking it to the extreme.... UNTIL... I heard this song "Highlander" by the band Lost Horizon. The song is about 10 minutes long, so on youtube, it is split in 2. Anyway, 4:02 - 4:30 is the most "epic" I've ever heard in a musical composition...
