lost in the garden Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 "What would you do if you came home and found your wife dead?Do you call the cops? Her parents? That's where the true nightmare begins.A story of love. A man and a woman's final night together."This is the description of this 1993 movie from the back of the VHS tape.I think it may be dark, and a little too real (mostly because it is, they do score dope, and they do shoot up) At the same time it makes for a very accurate portrayal of the life style, and the city of LA at the time. It's got some amazing performances, not only Janes but also Perry and Ice-T doing "Don't Call me black person, Whitey", John Fusciante, and even a song by the Karma Cosmic Crusader (this has to make anyone that lived in LA in the early 90's laugh.)All and all, it was a very big project of Perry and Casey to take on and I am glad that it saw the light of day after many delays in the movies release. I think the movie deserves a DVD release, I had to track down a used copy of the VHS a couple years ago on amazon because I had lost mine.Any other fans of this movie here, discuss what you think of the film........ dalsh327 Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I hope they put the movie out on DVD and can release more archives from the concert vaults. The movie itself..I like it but don't love it. I liked watching them play the songs more than the story. The band and Perry were in a bad place, and probably would've been a more interesting movie. If they did do a DVD, it would be cool if Perry and Casey did commentary, but I don't think they've talked to each other since the breakup....I think they're both a LOT happier though, and it might be long enough for them to discuss a rerelase.
