GivenToFly Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 I was looking at my iTunes library earlier, ordered by play count, and this song was #1 with a p.c. of 99. So, as I'm listening to it for the 100th time, I thought I celebrate the occasion by making an appreciation thread for it.So, who else loves the song? Quote
Shuffle Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Love it. Not my favourite of theirs but it's an amazing song. Quote
Guest deleted_19765 Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 I prefer "Let it Loose" to be honest, but its great. Quote
mr. orangestone Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Great song. To be honest, I think Exile has some filler though. If they left a couple of the tracks off, it would've been a flawless album, and their best. That said, the album still has many of their best tunes, and is incredible. Shine a Light is an awesome song, and like someone said earlier Let It Loose is great too. Quote
kevdo242 Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 The first song on Exile to really stand out to me. The album has come across as too consistent but that one will always be a highlight. Quote

To me they're Tumbling Dice, Happy, Loving Cup, Ventilator Blues -> I Just Want to See His Face, Let It Loose, Shine A Light, Soul Survivor, and All Down the Line. I think if some of the filler tracks (Rip This Joint, Turd on the Run, and Casino Boogie to name a few) were left off, the album would come off as even better. Quote
worldwideboss Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Exile is perfect the way it is. It's a journey, and every song contributes with an irreplaceable bit. That being said, Shine a Light is excellent and deserves to be named among the Stones' greatest pieces of music. Quote
sweetness Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Great song, one of their best standout tracksI've always considered Torn and Frayed the best song on Exile for some reason, I just love the feel of it Quote
Spoon87 Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 I LOVE this song, it's my favourite Stones song for sure. Quote
