Come up with some great riffs & choons but The Cult always seemed to be just slightly out of the mainstream. Can compare them to a very good first division football team. Got promoted to the Premier League for a bit but didn't like it & came back down & found their place.Billy really is a star, he can wail on punk and hard rock like nobody's business. I'd dare call him as good as a guitarist as Slash, but he has less of a blues touch.I've always thought that the She Sells Sanctuary riff was similar to the Edge's unconventional delayed playing. Except Billy rules, the Edge is a dunce.Edge is cool & unique in what he does and as a songwriter but William can do all the atmospheric delayed, fx soaked stuff AND play rock n' roll. Each Cult record (also Coloursound & other projects) sounds totally different from the next but his playing still stands out as being him. Heard some rumours lately that he might be working with a certain Mr Gallagher & a Mr Marr with some other mates on a Manchester City (my English team) team song. Would certainly be interested to hear that. Obviously Billy & Johnny are good mates and have worked together in the past (Cult song called North & also on an instrumental version of "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly) but would be cool to hear them with Noel too.
