Terrible audio and Hetfield's voice was bad. Also, they played too many of the new songs which are all overly long and boring.

I was at the same show Randy was at, but I thought it was smokin'.

I'd pay to see 'em again in a heartbeat if they were coming back.

they lost Jason and hit a slump no?

The fact that they lost Jason is a terrible, terrible shame, but they never really needed a comeback. I saw the during their st. anger-tour (which I admit is a horrendous album) and they STILL kicked ass! Metallica could sell out every gig they planned since the black album.

I saw them recently as well and, despite the mediocre sound, they were amazing. The new songs fit in the setlist next to the old songs without any problems.

Some Kind of Monster documented the slump...and the comeback.

St.Anger was the "comeback" release...like it or not.

Not everyone hated it.

And like stoner said...the St.Anger tour was a huge success, sold out damn near everywhere,if not everywhere...and they fuckin ripped.

Comeback was a success.....on to the next venture.

they ditched the "rock" thing they'd been doing since Load and went back to being heavy.

a.k.a. a return to a former style.

Never seen them before, but I've heard nothing but good things from those that have been to a show.

You won't be disappointed.
