Sprite Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) Metalica likes to portray that "bad ass, kick your ass" attitude. For all of their fans, what is it like knowing completely kicks Metallica's ass in every way, shape and form? Here are some more examples of this band kicking Metallica's ass in every way, shape and form: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuGpHsxb7ncAnd even their songs which they aren't screaming, they still kick Metallica's ass...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Wd7ndVFP0shttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdycqtH-eLo...feature=related Edited April 10, 2009 by Sprite Quote

Sprite Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 When does being harder for the sake of being harder make the music better?Did I say it did?I just think Pantera is like metallica on steroids and speed. I like some of Metallica, I just never liked there attitude, especially when Pantera is a much better/more talented and more thrash metal/heavy metal band than metallica. Quote

If you think heavier/faster/louder is better, why not just declare it, rather than implying it countless times and then denying it?I think I need to create a thread: anyone that likes Pantera...How Does It Feel Knowing Metallica founded the movement Pantera rode on and released more classic albums? But no, I won't. Because it wouldn't be fair or make any acknowledgement of the subjectivity of music and our opinions on it. Just like this thread, that's directed more towards degrading Metallica and their fans than championing Pantera, an altogether more noble and worthwhile thread, it would have been. And don't act shocked at all of this criticism either. You started a thread as a bait, what do you expect? Quote

Isn't it crazy that the last released Pantera song was titled, "I'll Cast A Shadow?" Freeky. I love Metallica too. Pantera really knew how to have a good time with the music. Quote
Sprite Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 The people in here are funny. Metallica loyality was at an all time high tonight. Fact is Pantera has more talented musicians that make much better music, making Metallica look like pussies. The fact is Metallica and their fans try and imply they are the most ass kicking hard band out there, they are not. Somnath Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Pantera didnt do anything in their entire career which could top a single song in Kill 'em all. The first 3 Metallica albums are almost perfect. In the bustling thrash scene of the 80s there were other faster, more brutal bands like Slayer, Exodus, Over Kill, Dark Angel as well as the Teutonic thrash bands....BUT no one was a tighter unit than Metallica. They went on to deliver classic after classic. Pantera isnt even thrash to begin with they are groove metal which grew out of the thrash wave of the 80s. I love Pantera, but you just cant compare them with Metallica. Plus post the Trendkill albums Anaselmo sounds horrible...he tries to imitate Death Metal like growls too much. The people in here are funny. Metallica loyality was at an all time high tonight. Fact is Pantera has more talented musicians that make much better music, making Metallica look like pussies. The fact is Metallica and their fans try and imply they are the most ass kicking hard band out there, they are not.Cant you come up with a more logical answer ? Forsaken Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 You clearly underestimate Mustaine then. Megadeth>Pantera>Metallica.ye och...... dunno about that, Pantera is way better than Megadeth. Quote
Big Boy Sixxx Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) love em both.Love the way metallica go into soft classical parts to mix it up a bit like in the middle of master and write some of the best metal ever. Pantera wrote some totally amazing riffs all of which had really good swing about them, plus some of the simple but heavy ass chuggin thumps are incredible. I bought the Im Broken single from HMV in Liverpool and was hooked ever since. They have fun withit and i love Dime's sound and tone. Phil really went down hill though live once heroin took its toll and some of the live tracks are really bad due to Phil. Metallica have pretty much managd to keep it tight all the way.I love both and couldnt pick one. I like them for different reasons. one doesnt have to be better than the other. know a lot of people have jumped on the bandwagon of Dimebag's murder but at the end of the day Metal has lost one of its most talented and loved players. Thats not good Edited April 10, 2009 by Big Boy Sixxx Quote
The Macaroni Incident? Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Never heard Pantera do anything on the level of "Fade To Black" or "One." Quote

Instead of simply praising a band you like you decided to attack another band, one with a massive influence on Pantera, I might add. My post had nothing to do with Metallica loyalty, but I suppose the sort of short-sighted person that would create a thread like this might want to view it that way. Quote
