P.A. Guns Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 So, I know there is a filter that downsizes larger images, but it still does not stop them from slowing down my computer. I think there should be a size restriction on what images you should post or have a thumbnail or something. Okay, the main reason I am posting this is because of the current situation in the pic thread.Posting 2000 by 3000 pixels is ridiculous. And normally I have my savior that is Adblock to block such disturbingly large images. But for one reason or another, IT JUST WON'T WORK.IT DOESN'T.I'VE BEEN ADBLOCKING IT FOR THE PAST 15 MINUTES BUTITJUSTWON'TWORK.fmlYeah, my computer in 6 years old, but it can still handle the pic thread kinda. But seriously, I can't even go in there anymore without all my computer apps closing and having that "You're virtual memory is too low" bubble popping up. Ugh.So, yeah, input? Quote
Wando Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I agree with you. We can post 6000 x 6000 pictures but signature limit is the same 20kb it was +5 years ago............... Quote
GnRlove Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Sorry about the pictures I posted earlier.. I've resized them in the original posts now though. I usually upload them using photobucket which resizes it for me, but it was acting up earlier so I used a different hosting site which doesnt.. but photobucket is fine noww so I've edited it Quote

I just changed my board settings to not show sigs at all.Exactly. Users with slow connection or who are otherwise annoyed by sigs are welcome to use this feature. Quote
Max™ Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Increase your virtual memory. Then you won't be getting the virtual memory popups and your PC will probably be a bit quicker. 1024MB is normally a decent figure if you have 512MB RAM or less. Quote
