NightProwler Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 This is probably my favorite album of all-time. This album is one of very few where I can listen to it straight through over and over again for days. The Boss and the E Street Band are at their best here without a doubt, although I'd argue Tunnel of Love is a close second.Your opinions? Quote
Lithium Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 It's probably my least favourite from his golden era, but still a great album. Quote
Shuffle Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 It's one of my favourite records of all time... I prefer Born To Run slightly but the difference is negligible and they're both in my favourite albums top 10. Quote

Can't go wrong at all.I'd also argue for Tunnel Of Love too. It wasn't really given a chance, because it was released after Born in the USA. To me its Bruce's most mature album. Def. a close second to Darkness. Quote
Shuffle Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I'm not that fond of Tunnel Of Love, it's a very good album, but I prefer everything he made before it over it, but then it's better than anything he has released after it - and I like all his stuff. Quote

worldwideboss Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 It's so tough to rank Springsteen's stuff like that... I would prefer to say that Darkness brings something unique to the table. It's an album with an energy that was never replicated in any of his releases, nor had it ever been created. Those were prolific times too in terms of songwriting, as some of his best unreleased songs come from those sessions. Quote

Probably one of my fav. songs he has ever written Quote
axlslash Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 The reason Tunnel of Love was never given a chance was that The Boss randomly disbanded the E Street Band, and it took people a while to get over that.Darkness is wonderful, but nowhere near as good as Born To Run or Wild, Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle. Plus they toured together afterwards before fully splitting. Quote
appetite for illusions Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Fantastic album to listen to from start to finish. I find it impossible to rank his albums, but this has to be up there. Candy, Adam, Promised, Prove It... amazing album. Quote
artfromtex Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 (edited) i think it was a transitional album for him. i think Born In The U.S.A. was him revisiting that same headspace with a more clearly defined idea of what he wanted to do in that particular realm. i love both of those albums immensely.
