Any other fans of this album? Most notably Keith Richards has praised it a lot. It's one of my favourite AC/DC records as I think it's got some classics and some progress in their sound. And if Let There Be Rock was Angus and Malcolm's guitar album, I definitly think this was Bon's as his lyrics and singing here are the icing on the fuckin delicious cake that is this album.

Rock 'N' Roll Damnation is one of my favourites, very upbeat and George's Young's production did a lot for it (hand claps etc.) that they hadn't used before, great chorus. Down Payment Blues is relatable, bitter and has a fuckin killer rock n' roll vibe to it, like the anthem for every struggling musician, great build up and is my favourite AC/DC song (and Slash's, oddly enough). Gimme A Bullet has some great lyrics from Bon (people often overlook his lyrics but their cleverer than you'd think, and he's got a good sense of humour to include), Sin City is a classic ode to drinking etc, Riff Raff is, predicably, fucking loaded with neat little riffs.. What's Next To The Moon has, again, more standout lyrics from Bon and another song looked over too much is the laid back bluesy ramble of Gone Shootin'.

Along with Flick Of The Switch and Ballbreaker I think it's their most underrated gem, people labelling them as rehashers of the same song need to look past Back In Black and Highway To Hell.

I got into AC/DC through this site pretty much, this message board. First album i bought, Highway To Hell was sort of bought out of semi-curiosity for the band and curiosity about this song called Night Prowler which....i dunno whether to call it influenced or encouraged (don't think its either) or...anyway, Richard Ramirez would listen to it before going out and murdering people, slicin' em up and i thought God, what the fuck must be in that song?!?! So i bought it, listened to it, fucking amazing album and the odd morbid curiosity over Night Prowler peaked at a "oh...alright then" but the album is what struck me so much because...part of the reason i hadn't listened to em was, terrible of me to say this but, the fanbase. It was all sort of metalheads and i was think fuck y'know, some fucking corny ass Iron Maiden type noise merchants, this ain't gonna be my thing and i listened to it and its like Wow y'know? I mean this is serious fucking three chord rock n roll, this ain't no dull atypical heavy metal shit...its fucking heavy but its...there's blues in there y'know? Really fucking solid catchy chorusey...pop-ish even...but it just works amazingly. Simple. Almost like the punk music that i loved so dearly but...there's a difference that i can't really put my finger on to this day. Is it cleaner? Well...sort of but it certainly doesn't SOUND clean. Is it more refined? Well to a point but its hardly virtuosity but it falls into that same thing that punk did where its like...OK, its simple right? Well good, you get up and try it, make it up, lets see how simple it is. And y'know what, you fuckin can't. A seriously brilliant album and whoever wrote that shit know where its at.

Second album i bought was reccomended by our very own Highvoltage and it was Powerage and its like...WOW...where the fuck has this band been hiding? (or where have i been hiding from them) Its rock n roll of the highest order, its really tight, its just brilliant, i fucking loved it, i haven't bought a fucking AC/DC album since but i really want to if they rest are anything like those two.

AC/DC is my favourite band ever. I love all their albums, and obviously Powerage. I think the songs are magnificent, just simply overlooked by the majority of "fans". This was Cliff's debut, and to date, best performance on record [although the bass on Black Ice is fucking awesome as well ;)] Not to mention Bon's lyrics! I think this is Bon's best lyrical work.

Anyways, it's flawless. Nice thread.
