DirtyDeeds
whitesnake david coverdale has built his entire career around being a robert plant rip off.People go around saying that, but I never got the comparison. Coverdale has always had more bulk or deepness to his voice or something to me. They just don't sound as alike as people make them out, to me.Even though I just said what I said, I agree. I don't think Coverdale sounds that close to Plant. To me, he sounds closer to Sammy Hagar. Listen to "Here I Go Again," especially the part that goes, "And I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams." But picture Sammy Hagar in your head instead of David Coverdale. They are practically identical.

Bansidhe
This is one of the most blatant bits of thievery I've heard in recent years. I'm surprised Bill hasn't taken action. They just sound like some Nickelback types trying to be a bit cool.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhnVw98ZBZM&fmt=18 And the original...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjSm0iLIeZE&fmt=

Two very different things my friend. It was also aa very bad rap song made by the not so good raps of Twisted. (ICP Related)

Guest Len B'stard
I'll tell you a rip off - Velvet Revolver's Let It Roll chorus. Roadhouse Blues anyone? And that's coming from a big VR fan.Its funny you should say that actually, the other day i was listening to Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth is by The Lads (Oasis) and at the chorus, the "put your money where your mouth is, ya momma said that you was realll" i found myself thinking, wow, thats really close to "keep your eyes on the road, your hand upon the wheeell" rhythmically. Not that i give a shit, Oasis are amazing and always have been
Death Star
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Zm5c7mKjrQI heard a song on the radio a few years back that re-used the Van Halen lick from :36-:

Either unintentional or just Buckethead paying homage to Eddie in the same way he payed homage to Randy Rhoads by using a Crazy Train style riff in the song "Welcome to Bucketheadland". It was released like 2 months after the Van Halen song... Much of Out of the Cellar was recorded in 1983, before 1984 from Van Halen was released (the album that "Panama" was on). maXx
So what? Led Zepplin is guilty of ripping off other artists too. I hear about it all the time...http://www.youtube.c...h?v=ogTFdlbup24wow, i'm so glad you posted this, i'm so moved. this changes everythingnot that i don't like zeppelin anymore .. but it just changes things
maXx
Stockdale sometimes almost sounds exactly like Plant (e.g. Woman). This and the "70's music LedZep/BlackSabbath - style - thing" could lead to the assumption that they try to ripp off their sound. It's a thin line between ripping off the sound of a band or have them as a strong influence. i agree, it is a thin line and i think stockdale sings like plant but it's not intentional. i think he just feels it that way and they are obviously influenced by that 70/80s style anyway. everyone is a product of what they love but some are just plain copycats with no soul believability. Bansidhe
I don't really think it's a rip off but the chord progression & melody in both of these songs are eerily similair. I'm a big fan of both bands but it's just a peculiar thing that both these particular parts of the song sound the same.54 seconds in when Dime's high melody comes in.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nX_pSFXuoL0&fmt=1824 seconds in when the organ melody line comes in.
