Supporters not shown in "Overall top Posters" list

Slightly off topic.

I always wondered why the admins didn't send you a e-mail or something when you did donate to thank you for your support?

Every other forum that I have ever donated to, does this.

It's no big deal, but I did find it a little odd.

A slight glitch i guess, been like it for a while.

Running the forum must take an immense amount of work so this isn't high on the list

Yeah it's not that big of a deal, just strange for IPB to not fix it.

Supporters aren't shown in that list

This problem has indeed been adressed before. Luckally some Forum settings having been introduced over time make some things possible that were not the case before. So IPB did fix it. I just applied the settings.

1. Supporters can now be searched from the drop down list:

2. Supporters now appear in the "Overall top 20 posters"

3. Supporters now appear in the "Today's top 20 posters"

Thank you for brigning it up. :) If there is any other problems with it, simply let me know here.

As for having an automatedt thank you message sent to Supporters uppon donation, I did think of it and it truly be ideal. There are "add ons" for it. Some Forums use it, some Forums also use it to send out an additionnal Welcome message to regular members. The reason I did not use it:

1. My efforts on this issue went more towards having a "automated", "trouble free" and "instant" system for regular members who wich to donate and support the Forum. I can tell you that out of those who decided to become supporters over time, there were very little "problems". This took a bit of tweaking.

2. I try to keep some features (obvioudly not all) to normal or a minumum, either because they are ressource intensive, or I would have to create an additionnal process that would run at a specific time interval. Then it would not be instant. I agree it would be cool to have, but in the end the more features you add, the more trouble you can run into. This Forum track record for being online and reliable proves it (now this does not happen by itself, and I'm glad GET OFF AXLS BACK noted it in this thread).

Supporters do deserve recognition for "Supporting" the Forum. Their donations help to contribute to a small fraction of the hosting costs of the Forum. I do want to hear From Supporters about what could make the experience "Better", and what in their opinion could be done to get more regular members to donate. For example, is 1000 storable message enough? Are any of you close to your limits?

Personally speaking the message limits for supporters seems like over kill to me but im sure others find it useful, i tend to delete most of mine but im sure others keep a lot for reference.

I guess a supporters only forum is out of the question :rofl-lol:
