I have one program that I can rip videos with from YouTube, but when I put them on my PS3, they're blocky as hell and I hate that. If anyone knows a good program that'll rip videos in higher quality, please let me know.

FYI, adding &fmt=18 to the end of a youtube link will load the page in HQ. I prefer torrents for HQ/HD stuff (read anime) though.

You need to download either a codec or a player that supports videos in .flv format.

For a play, I've found that VLC Media Player works well. You can find it here: http://www.videolan.org/

If you prefer to use your existing media player, you can download and install the K-lite Codec Pack. It will allow you to play just about any type of media file. You can download it here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.p...=5144&s=775

Youtube sure is deleting alot of videos lately.

20 of my saved favorites have been removed in the last 2 weeks.

Sadly, I think it'll only get worse.

VLC is horrible, use CCCP's MPC.

What pros does it offer compared to VLC? VLC has been working great with me.

E: Btw, I don't have space to spare on my HD (getting a 2TB HD in a few days though :D) so I can't test it yet..

If you're using the thing GOAB suggested, and you're at a YouTube videos page, click on the little arrow at the top next to the spinning symbol for the program. Then click the one that says like 'HQ18 (whatever the video is called)' or one that says 'HQ22 (whatever the video is called)'. Those should and usually always download in .mp4 format. Usually HQ22 is better quality in the end as well.

As for the iTunes problem, I'd have to give it a shot. I haven't put a video on my iPod in a long while so if I figure anything out, I'll let you know.

Once again, thanks GOAB. This thing works great!

VLC is notoriously bad at sub rendering and does a very poor job with the mkv container, especially with h264. It uses it's own built in codecs, some which CCCP has better algorithms. Notably, the ffmpeg algorithm (used by VLC) with h.264 is vastly inferior to coreavc (ask me for a link if you need it WINK WINK), and you can't use coreavc with VLC.
