Fun n' Games Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 The Pumpkins are in my top three favorite bands, I love Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie. The other albums are weaker, but still there is some good material to be found. Also, I recently checked the SP forum, there seem to be a lot of weird people over there; this place here seems pretty sane when you think about it. LightningBolt Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Smashing Pumpkins fanboys are probably the most stubborn people on the face of the Earth, but besides that they're an okay band. Quote

Lithium Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 (edited) Wow, that's an unusual choice. You see, Sunny likes to say shit like that and go against the flow. Gets him attention. On topic: They were my favourite band back in 2006/2007. Mellon Collie is the clear stand-out album - a true magnum opus. Edited July 9, 2009 by Lithium Quote

The Sandman Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Yup - I've not fully delved into their discography, but they are a good band Quote
Guest Satanisk_Slakt Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Good band. Not a big fan, but I like them. Quote
SofaKingWhat Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Yeah I like them. Got their albums, saw them in Glasgow a year or so back. Was annoyed they never played Silverfuck, and during United States, Corgan was getting heckled by the crowd as he went way way way too long with his noisey incoherent guitar solo, just basically dicking around with feedback and what not. Honestly it was just a horrible noise and he went on and on and on with it. The rest of the band even fucked off backstage for a bit while he was going on. A chorus in the crowd of "Play a fucking tune! Play a fucking tune!" sparked up, and I have to admit, I agreed with them. Fucking huge cheer when he finally continued with the rest of the song. Quote

myguiltysecret Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 loved them so much back in the day that I can't listen to siamese or mellon collie anymore. Wore my ears out through over-listening, but I do think they were the best albums too. Quote

I saw them in Vienna and Billy solo (well, he is always kind of solo nowadays...) in Los Angeles. At one point he looked at the screaming crowd and stated: What are you saying? Billy can't hear you! He can only hear the voices in his head!At this strange SP fan forum, there was one guy who paid 15000 $ for a dinner with Billy, and people were giving him a lot of shit for that. I say: If it's that important to him (or if he got that much money), a good thing. May he have fun! Quote

Stop that. He's right. Between U2 and the Beatles, I don't know which has better fans. Hardly ever do you hear U2 and Beatles fans bitching and complaining all of the time. Quote
silverarrow Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 I really like Siamese Dreams , but haven't followed the for a long time . Quote
mike bibby Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Love me some Pumpkins. Someof my favorite more obscure songs they have are that song they came out wih 2 years ago "Tarantula" and the song off Batman and Robin (the only redemable part of that entire shitfest) Quote
Rodzilla72 Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I got Adore when it came out and listened to it to death... good songs on Mellon Collie, Siamese as well- he writes great hook-laden tunes imo Quote
