Dariablue
Some of you did so well with the movie suggestions, I thought why the hell not.I mostly listen to female singers or female fronted bands, but other stuff is welcome. Oh, and if possible please post a link so I don't have to hunt for it because I'm lazy.
Lithium
What kinda stuff are you looking for?
Dariablue
What kinda stuff are you looking for?I don't know. I don't have anything particular in mind. I guess nothing too weird. Some of my favorite bands/artists: No Doubt, Gwen Stefani, Hole, Courtney Love, Garbage, Incubus, Bush, GNR (duh), Veruca Salt. Anouk and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs were recently suggested to me and I very much liked both of those. I had a list from the person on here who suggested the later, but sadly I've deleted it long ago and can't remember what the list consisted of. Lithium
Here's a list of some female singers/bands with chicks in them. None of them are obscure or anything, though, so you've probably already heard a fair part of them.Imperial Teen The Shangri-Las TLCJoni Mitchell Edited July 14, 2009 by Lithium
LightningBolt
I second the Joplin and Blondie suggestions.Okay, I've got suggestions, but I won't be able to post links since my internet is running SO slowly. Lita Ford is an 80's Hard Rock/Hair Metal singer/guitarist, look up the song "Kiss My Deadly", it shouldn't be hard to find at all. Girlschool is a New Wave of British Heavy Metal band from the early 80's and look up "Tush", they did a cover of it (originally by ZZ Top) and that shouldn't be very hard to find, either. Of course there's Pat Benatar, her first two albums are her best, great songs being "Hell is For Children" and "Heartbreaker", incase you never got into her for whatever reason. And Joan Jett, you probably know her, too, she does Hard Rock that kinda leans towards Punk Rock in some songs, but not very much, and her most popular songs are "I Love Rock n' Roll", "Bad Reputation", and "I Hate Myself For Loving You". There's an all female band called Vixen who did Hair Metal in the 80's, and "Edge of a Broken Heart" is their greatest hit. The Donnas are a more recent Hard Rock band, they're decent. And there's Stevie Nicks who does poppier stuff, and her most well known song is "Edge of Seventeen", and she was in Fleetwood Mac where she sang some songs (the most famous she personally sang was "Dreams" if you wanna look that up, as well). Siouxsie & the Banshees are a great Post Punk/Alternative band. Lush is a cool Alternative band, you should check 'em out too.
