Malicious Matt
I was at Bestbuy today, and I saw all those albums, but some of them were in a cube-type packaging. Anyone seen those? What goodies does it come with?
Marky
I have Stereo, and I really don't notice the vocals in one channel for the first 2 albums. The sets sound incredible, so much more depth.

Zint
So like what's the verdict people? Mono or stereo? Both is the definitive answer. And I don't mean that bullshit "you gotta own both or you're not a real fan" nonsense. Some things work better in the mono format, some in stereo.I've listed a few great examples of the mono set already. The stereo set has it's triumphs. For example,I was quite impressed with If I Fell and When I Get Home in stereo. And of course the final releases in stereo are a given. But some of the stereo stuff I find myself going.."uuuhh,no"".Sounds a bit forced at time,a bit too modern day pretty-esque soundscapes. At times the mono set just screams drunken night out in the Cellar. It's reeeeeally fuckin cool!the ones that are released by themselves are they stereo only or what?Only way you're getting mono is in the mono box set.And also I know is probably a dumb shit question but is it possible to fit Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road and Let It Be inside the Mono Box?nopeBut apparantly there's specially designed boxes coming out for just that purpose...or something.what's the difference with packaging in both box sets?Mono box set is rather compact, big enough to hold the discs.Stereo box set is quite a bit larger and heavier.Mono discs are described in other posts. It comes with one booklet.Stereo discs are digipack and cool in their own right.Lots of amazing pictures and info in the booklets. Each disc has a booklet.Stereo box also has a dvd of all the mini docus.(apparantly this dvd won't be included in future pressings)Both sets are amazing and I'm blown away by both to be honest. If I was forced to choose one set to own...it would be mono with the individual stereo discs needed to complete the collection. Zint
I was at Bestbuy today, and I saw all those albums, but some of them were in a cube-type packaging. Anyone seen those? What goodies does it come with? They're called Beatle crates. You get the cd and corresponding album cover t shirt...packed in a mini replica milk crate that holds the individual cd's.Milk crates are what we used to store our albums in....they were a perfect fit. axl_on_drums
I was suprised to find the stereo remaster of Let It Be has the Spector production. Wonder if Mccartney was alright with this.
KetchupNotMayo
Listening to Rubber Soul in mono right now, amazing album. Edited September 15, 2009 by KetchupNotMayo
Marky
I suppose the McCartney version is already remastered, so no point remastering it again, like the Love album, or Athology set.
KetchupNotMayo
Well, that and the Spector version is still the original, regardless of whether McCartney likes it or not.
luciusfunk
I still need to get four of the remasters and then I'll have them all. I'm downloading them in FLAC right now.
