Vocals: Axl Rose

Lead: Slash

Rhythm/Backing Vocals: Daron Malakian

Bass: Cliff Burton

Drums: John Dolmayan

It would be an incredibly fucked up band, filled with arguements, weird but awesome vocal melodies and a very metal rhythm section.

Good times.

Now THAT is a supergroup. Nice one.

Bass/Vocals: Paul McCartney (The Beatles)

Guitar/Vocals: David Gilmour (Pink Floyd)

Keys/Vocals: Richard Wright (Pink Floyd)

Drums: Phil Selway (Radiohead)

Would be interesting

McCartney, Gilmour and Wright could probably have some fucking unreal harmonies if they wanted to, that'd be one awesome band.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, the vocals would be great and the music could be really interesting. Too bad it could never happen... I have a picture of McCartney and Gilmour together, from the 70s, I wonder if they ever jammed.

Yeah it's a damn shame, I'm sure they'll have played together at some point, but we'll never hear it even if they did I imagine.

Another more modern one I think would be.

His Infernal Chili Fighters

Lead Vocals: Ville Valo

Lead Guitar: John Frusciante

Rhythm Guitar: Johnny Marr

Bass Guitar: Flea

Drums: Dave Grohl

Production: Trent Reznor/Flood/Alan Moulder

Actually David Gilmour and Paul McCartney play a whole show together on Paul's Live At The Cavern Club DVD. It's really good! But not the typical David Gilmour you'd expect. More rock and roll.

On Live At The Cavern Club it's:

Paul McCartney

David Gilmour

Ian Paice (Deep Purple)

Mick Green

Pete Wingfield

But agreed; Paul Dave and Rick would've been pure magic.

:o :o I've never heard about that... must remember to check it out, thanks!

That'd be cool. Not a huge Dave Grohl fan though. And I definitely couldn't see Flea and Ville together haha

How about one with only dead musicians?

Freddie Mercury (vocals, piano), Duane Allman and Bo Diddley (guitars), John Bonham (drums) and any bassist from the backing bands of Sun, Chess, RCA, Specialty etc from the late 50s.

Freddie Mercury - vocals/piano

Tom Fogerty - guitar

James Jamerson - bass

Mitch Mitchell - drums

Vocals: Eddie Vedder

Lead Guitar: Eric Clapton

Rhythm Guitar: Izzy Stradlin

Bass Guitar: Flea

Drums: Joey Jordison

Keyboard/Synthesizers/Production: Trent Reznor

Not sure how well they would gel as a group considering their individual genres, Joey in particular as I haven't heard him out of slipknot. All of them are known for their song writing ability so I'm sure they could come up with something special.
