hallyyu Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 i would really like some honest opinions. there are some suck singers in gnr cover bands and i aint sayin i am great or anything and my voice doesn't really get as high but i think i have enough of the live egde to do it. what do you think? here are some clips belowhttp://www.megaupload.com/?d=6ZYHRQ0Lhttp://www.megaupload.com/?d=EQZ0GKNGhttp://www.megaupload.com/?d=9TX5P4VB Quote
highvoltage Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 I think it's ok - but you're straining pretty hard and that's difficult to sustain for an entire set. You crack 2 or 3 times in the first 30 second clip - it's fine when you're recording bits and bobs at home, but after a half hour rehearsal I think your voice would probably be shot.Don't get me wrong, you're not a terrible singer or anything - just Axl's stuff is a bit out of your range (same with me) and you'd be better served to covering stuff that doesn't force you so much. You'd feel more comfortable singing it and it wouldn't be so grating on your audience to have to listen to.EDIT: Just listened to Reckless Life and what I suspected was pretty much bang on. Like I said - when you're singing live, you're not supposed to struggle with every note and that's what it sounds like you're having to do. Quote
