Spirit
Many newspapers have revealed that promoters are working on getting Guns N' Roses to play Bergen and Stavanger in May.If they succeed in booking them, the dates are already determined:"... BA has learned that the dates are determined, and the arenas are already booked. «Guns N’ Roses will play Forus Travbane in Stavanger two days before they turn Bergen into Paradise City», says the paper."The promoter is pretty new in the concert-business, and are currently looking for funding for these concerts. One of the newspapers running this story have a poll up, asking if we want Guns N Roses coming to town. Help showing interest by voting "JA" here: http://www.rogalandsavis.no/puls/article4811533.eceA couple more articles (in Norwegian): http://www.ba.no/puls/musikk/konsert/storkonserter/article4810336.ecehttp://www.nrk.no/nyheter/distrikt/hordaland/1.6949602All things points to Bergen Horse Racetrack being a venue for at least one big rock concert this summer. Guns N' Roses and Aerosmith are among the considered.Alan Jackson played there last August to 20,000 people.Anthun (the promoter) won't reveal the artists they are working on, but BA (the newspaper) have learned financial people in Bergen have been contacted to help fund concerts for Guns N' Roses or Aerosmith. There haven't been many events here before, and they are considering themselves as new to the game. But they do have amibtions of getting big names in the future. No concrete bands have been booked yet, but the promoter have great trust in them getting this done.Alan Jackson concert in Bergen last August. Spirit
A little update...http://www.rogalandsavis.no/puls/article4813608.eceIf the promoter (not publicly announced) manage to sign Guns N' Roses, between 40,000 and 60,000 hard rock fans gets to see Axl Rose & co at Forus Horse Racetrack. We have reserved the venue on Thursday, May 27 for the concert, the venue manager at Forus tells the paper. However, they want people to know that nothing has been signed yet, so this isn't confirmation of any sort. But, if they manage to come through with this, the dates are most likely to be (based on previous info) May 27 in Stavanger and May 29 in Bergen.Feel free to vote JA in this article as well.. John Bonham
No Guns N' Roses at Coachella Jay-Z, Muse and Gorillaz will serve as headliners at the 2010 Coachella Music and Arts Festival, taking place in Indio, California, April 16th to 18th. Reunions and supergroups highlight the lineup, as Pavement, the Specials, Sly & The Family Stone and Faith No More are all set to perform at the festival, as well as Them Crooked Vultures and the Dead Weather. Other notables on the bill include a solo set by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, LCD Soundsystem, Gary Numan, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Grizzly Bear, Devo, Phoenix, Spoon, Julian Casablancas and more.
