Let And Let Live Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 I'm really hoping for at least two of the following tonight; There Was A Time, Catcher and Prostitute.Would be really cool to hear something that hasn't been played live by the "new band" too, I'd love to hear this band tackle Oh My God and Riad. ThinkAboutYou Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 i think they are saving estranged for South America Quote
Lose Your Illusions Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 (edited) I'd like to know why anyone thinks they might play Estranged,Don't Cry,etc.tonight? I mean don't get me wrong that would rule. I think it wil be a similar set to Tokyo, about 3 hours but no UYI gems. I hope I'm wrong. Those songs being played in Montreal have a better chance being played tonight than anywhere else on the confirmed dates this year.1. First gig there since 1992 unlike Tokyo, Chicago, MSG, Rio etc2. Axl might feel he needs to give something back to the people in Montreal, it was not his fault the concert had to be cancelled in 1992, but he could atleast say "hey heres Estranged, forget the past, lets just rock tonight." or something like that to ease tensions.i think we're all hoping for it. But its not like Estranged is gonna be played in Moncton, no offense, but its just too important for a average gig. Which makes me think if it would played, tonight is it. atleast for now. BakerGNR Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Tomorow night is gonna rock even harder than tonight Axl doesnt give a fuck about 20 years ago...hes probobly gonna make a fuckin joke about the riot...its Axl he doesnt give a fuck...thats why hes Axl and were on a forum talkin bout em...hes gonna go full tilt in Toronto..Im gonna be front row motherfuckers.. Let And Let Live Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 Ever since Bumblefoot played a few licks of Estranged on his solo we've been lead to believe the song will be played eventually, and as tonight is a special show, it's only logical that we feel it could get a play tonight, it's all wishful thinking admittedly. What most people don't know is even tho Montreal is such a big city. GNR has only performed there once. Yup... 1992. Axl feels he has to "give back" The fans never got to her DC, Civil War etc. Which were standard on the UYI tour. They heard 5 well almost 5 songs. Not even NR.Watching Baz. Nice crowd here at the Centre Bell!/jarmo Edited January 28, 2010 by MicEffecT Quote

I don't think there is vid for Taipai and Seoul Quote
MicEffecT Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 OK. For those of you in Montreal... I've talked with admin on this. So it's OK to elaborate!!! There is VERY strong speculation that GNR is doing an after hours set tonight. From what I hear it will be at Club Muzique hence the reason Axl was there last night. Similar to what they did in NYC for Rosario Dawson. It will most likely be an acoustic set since all there stage equipment will be on trucks headed for TORONTO. Apparently the stage trucks reach the ACC around 8am for setup so they'll be haulin' ass. That stage takes close to 3 hours to break down. That's just stage trucks. Lighting etc will roll in around noon. Not to get off topic. I know some of you believe in my posts, much appreciated So I have the OK to open this discussion. Let the rumours fly!!!Is this something where any fan can pay the cover or is it gonna be some VIP only bullshit? They are gonna have a lot of pissed off mullet having fans at this club. I can only imagine the upscale dressed folks being invaded by the guys with the 1987 AFD shirts. Then the guys with the AFD shirts being hauled away while screeaming "NONE OF THE MOTHERFUCKERS IN THERE EVEN KNOW COMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"I dunno if dresscode is in effect. I know last night there was. Most fans will be in GNR uniform so I can't see it being enforced. The club is pretty big too. Second to Metropolis I think. All the UFC fighters hang there after the Montreal event. Probably why Axl knew about the place. I don't see any cover if it's " for the fans ." "NONE OF THE MOTHERFUCKERS IN THERE EVEN KNOW COMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"LOL! PricelessBut an after hours show DAM! I just hope the boys don't exhaust themselves, I want them to be in top shape tomorrow. That's why it would be acoustic. I'm hearing Izzy maybe in Montreal. Unconfirmed!!!Time out-IZZY? Where on earth did you hear this? A drunk dude who thinks it's 1987 outside of the venue doesn't count either.[/quoteThere were people sayin they seen him inside the venue but who knows. Guess we'll wait and see. I just heard that and since this is the thread I figured I'd let everyone else know. It's true til proven to be a rumour!!! Quote
PTZ Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I heard the Izzy rumor earlier today but I didn't say anything because I thought it was not true, just people shitting around saying they saw him. Quote
Frozen Inferno Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 (edited) these surprises people r talkin about.. for montreal and toronto... r they gona be real surprises like.. new song... or duff.. gettin on stage..? or another shitty cover like a jackson 5 song..? this is exciting Edited January 28, 2010 by Frozen Inferno Quote
