Sounds like the exclusive distribution through Best Buy is coming to an end, amazon.com is going to have it available for download Feb 23rd and the CD for sale (legit through amazon this time and not through resellers) beginning of March.

I have a feeling they're going to try to promote it a little more in the US. Best bet is going on Jimmy Kimmel and doing a week's worth of shows, and people can get to know the band members, plus being at the El Capitan makes it possible to line up shows at nearby venues. I don't think anyone would compain about a week worth of GNR on TV. Plus he's not going to ask controversial questions and knows the music well enough...

Besides, people don't really watch music videos anymore as far as getting to hear what's going on in music. TV appearances on late night TV, going viral on youtube or playing festivals seems to be the way people see and hear music. Or playing award shows.

i wouldn't bet on new material, but maybe we get band-approved art. would be nice if they remastered the vinyl and got rid of the pops. it really sucks to open a brand new record and have skips and distortion like that.

Amazon's selling it but not Target, who does puts out uncensored music... I know he wanted to avoid Wal Mart altogether.

I also would've thought Hot Topic and Tillys would be selling it...

I'll buy it even if it only has the other cover art and proper liner notes. It would be pretty cool to get some bonus material, would love to hear the re-worked Oh My God, always been a fan of that song, great lyrics and chorus, the production and instrumentation was just too muddy is all

I don't think they'll be re-releasing the same exact album, with the same tracks. I thinks they might have a few bonus tracks on it, maybe the new versions Oh My God and Silkworms and a few live tracks or a LIVE DVD included, that would be cool. I wouldn't buy the album again just for a different cover for the same price you bought the original one. Maybe if its $5, but not for $15-16, its kinda a waste, you already have the music. I would only buy it if they had bonus stuff with it .

I also hope Axl and the band promote it this time around, go on some late night shows, do some more surprise gigs and release it in general stores and not just best-buy, I was in there yesterday and they still had many there for $12, their not losing any now.

As great as the band is doing now, they should have no problem getting back in the mainstream music scene, they sound awesome, and their shows are selling out. Hopefully we see this band kick ass in the US for the general public to get to know the new, kickass Guns N' Roses.

Re-releasing the same songs with an alternate cover is just useless.

Yes. Just like the limited edition package - it was crap!!!!! I'd rather have 1 more track than a million t-shirts and fucking belt buckles!

Didn`t Axl mention sometime ago he would release a version with a new artwork and proper booklet or something?

In the December '08 chats, yes.

If this is a re-issue then I hope it happens over here in the UK as well.

Me too. Would be worth importing if it had anything decent as extra. Not for a picture though.

here is the link for vinyl

Hope it's a re-release. Then releasing singles and videos from the album would make more sense to do after a re-release, rather than having the album be out over a year and nothing. Here's hoping that's what this will lead to.
