Guns 4 Bond?

They cover "Live And Let Die" that was a Bond song and sounds great. Now with Richard ripping through the Bond theme and Guns having songs like If The World, TWAT and Prostitute they might as well do an actual soundtrack work for that franchise. I think they'd be the only band to ever put a cherry on top of what Chris Cornell did. By Bond-style I mean the certain dark drama atmosphere and those minor chord progressions, kinda hard to explain but it's obvious when you hear these songs.

Would you buy CD again if it had a bonus track that sounds like LALD, If The World, TWAT and Prostitute?

Would you go and see the movie if it had a new Guns song?

First off, I don't hear anything Bond-esque in TWAT or Prostitute. ITW would be a bitchin' Bond song, but they'd want to use something new when Bond 23 comes out almost 2 years from now. And I'd go out on a limb and say absolutely no one will ever be able to to You Know My Name for a Bond theme; it's absolutely perfect.

And I intend on seeing any new Bond movie the day it comes out anyways, especially as long as Daniel Craig is still Bond!

I completely agree about You Know My Name. That song was a perfect fit for Casino Royale. I especially liked how David Arnold used the melody from that song throughout the score as opposed to resorting to the actual Bond theme which he did frequently in the action scenes of the previous films he scored. Fit the style of the film and Craig's Bond perfectly. Another Way To Die was a very disappointing follow-up, as was Quantum of Solace in general as compared to Casino Royale. Still a solid film, and with Craig as Bond you can't go wrong!

As for a Guns N' Roses Bond theme? I think that would be awesome. It certainly wouldn't be If The World as the song would be way too old by that point. Plus, they always use a new song, but I'm sure they could come up with something along the same line. Truthfully, If The World gives me the same vibe as The World Is Not Enough for some reason. Feels like it would have been a part of that film.

I like the whole James Bond part of the show, with Fortus covering the theme, Live and Let Die, and If The World. As a lifelong Bond fan, it's cool to see one of my favorite bands playing the music live!

I'm with Powerage on There Was A Time and Prostitute though. Those two don't really sound like Bond songs.

Agreed on the David Arnold comment; most people I know don't pick up on that. Really, all in all, I'd have to say Casino Royale is by far my favorite Bond movie to date. And while I agree that Another Way To Die was a rather poor Bond theme, I still think Quantum Of Solace is a great movie. I think the thing that turns a lot of people off from it is that it has very little surface-level substance; you need to really understand Casino Royale to see Quantum as more than just an action film. The past 2 movies are setting up for (hopefully more than) a couple more great Bond movies with Craig.
