Lose Your Illusions
no form of music really dies.look at classical and jazz for example.but all lose popularity.there will always be some kid out there that will like loud guitars and some other kid will like smooth beats. vince41090
Say what you want Sunny, but I'd rather listen to Eminem that 100% of the black persons out there rapping about their miserable ghetto lives. I know you'll say this is racial too Sunny. It's not.Come on, Tupac trumps Eminem any day lyrically.Funny thing about Tupac is, he's released around 15 cd's yet it's near impossible to even name 15 good Tupac songs off the top of your head...Oh yeah...Nasty Nas is the best rapper alive. Shuffle
Sure it will be become less popular because that's just the way things goes, it won't disappear or fade away but it probably won't be as popular in the mainstream as it is today. Like with every other genre of music.
GNR123GNR456
No, Rap won't fade out. The reason is because it's a very powerful, liked genre. Sure, I'm not a fan of Rap, but its not a bad genre. It is liked by many people and to many people it speaks to them of everyday life on the streets. Its been strong since the 80's. Sure, it has it's lows (auto-tone), but until Rock (real rock, not Nickelback and Linkin Park) make a comeback, rap will be here.
Orsys
Oh, I really hope it fades out. My son was into rap until recently when he switched to metal as his preference. Although I did enjoy some of Eminem's stuff from 8 Mile.

His biggest single & an early freestyle. Isn't coincidence a bitch!R.

bacardimayne
Seriously though, the reason I like Eminem more than other rappers is because he's more pop than rap. His singles always have that amazing hook that you just can't get out of your head. Other rappers just go on about the ghetto for 5 minutes with no chorus over a basic drum beat. I can't listen to that.
