Is there a Rock am Ring this year? If so I hope they play that too.

I think the headliners are Kiss, Rammstein, Rage Against The Machine and Muse?

Kiss, Rammstein, Muse , Jay Z

Great line up! Jay Z is amazing live.

I really hope there are no fuckin idiots throwing bottles at the stage, cant be doing with that! I'm sure a few will be thrown though. TBH the amount of shit egtting thrown in SA at the mo is suprising, the problem is, if he stops the show for people throwing shit at leeds or reading i think it could turn very nasty. Most of the people that go to leeds and reading are kids about 17/18 who cant handle their drink and are loose cannons.

Fingers crossed for 10,000 hardcore gnr fans that get in their way!

if AXL goes on on time and blasts through the first few songs ok, im sure the show will go off with no probs.

At leeds i dont think there are any big acts on the nme stage to pull the nme crowd away from gnr.

Thats the thing with the Download 2006 show.

Shit got thrown and they threatened to leave which pissed off the crowd.

They didn't leave and many people say that after that the anger the band and the crowd both had lead to a great performance and by the end of the night everyone was singing

What ever all festivals they end up playing, I hope we get a full, Pro-Shot concert out of at least one of them.

Reading/Leeds are generally pro-shot aren't they? Or have been in previous years - but I might be confusing that with Download.

Yes. Should be HD as I think Glastonbury was last year.

Download is a web stream, Leeds & Reading play the highlights on T.V.

I don't know if we will get a full pro-shot concert, they tend to cut them down for the T.V showing so the question is which songs will they cut. :shrugs:

We will have some pro shot footage a little like what we got from download last time, pc, scom, jungle maybe.... a few songs.

Just been on the leeds fest forums, id say people were right to say the response is generally positive tbh, about 60% appear pleased that gnr are there which is good.

Unfortunately it seems highly likely to me that some idiots will try to antagonize axl and the band by throwing shit. Hopefully he wont rise to it.

I've joined the leeds forum to add some more positivity!

Axl will win the fuck heads over by the end of the night like he did at Download in 06

I've got tickets for the Friday at Reading, but I'm disappointed how they've split the days up. Up until last year they used to have all the hard rock acts on one day, usually a Sunday. Now they've split them up across the Friday and Sunday. I would rather see GNR, Queens of the stone age, Paramore, Limp Bizkit all on one day rather than shit like Gogol Bordello. I hope they anounce some other decent bands for the Friday.

I'd stick GN'R as headliners on Saturday above arcade fire and sack off the rest of the festival.

i hope he does man, but if he stops the show during track 1 because a few bottles are thrown at the stage, he will lose the crowd immediately and all hell will break loose.

I'm not defending the idiots by the way, i'm just saying what i think could happen. There are far more young drunk, drugged up twats who are not there for any musical reason at leeds as opposed to download.

I hope that there won't be any idiots who will throw bottles and other stuff at Axl and the guys. Although saying that looking at the lineup on the whole it isn't very rock/metal heavy so will the people that go even know about the politics of GN'R; and if people are going just for GN'R (as I am) then I doubt people will pay around 90 quid to just go and moan. The only issue may be the whole going on stage late thing although most days at festivals finish around midnight and most people camp so timing shouldn't be an issue. Also from a purely selfish point of view I hope Axl does go on late as I'm not camping and am getting the 4:40am train home the next day so the later Axl is the less I have to wait around in the morning!

im just watching download 06 on dvd, amazing how a show can go from good to bad very quickly lol then to good again!

Most of the crowd appear very happy for 45 mins then a quick delay and its all fuckin boos! lol

I think reading and leeds are a great opportunity to say a big fuck you to the negative media in the UK who think the band are shit.

I remember thinking this at download and unfortunately it didn't happen but fingers crossed for this time!

Yep I bought tickets just to see GN'R... bloody expensive but well worth it to catch them on form.

Regarding Download 06 it still confuses me how people were hostile when Axl was in great voice and the band sounded great too. I really hope we'll get an atmosphere to rival the S.American crowds, they knew the words to every song! But judging from a lot of talk on forums there seems to be a bit of a generation gap in fans with many not appreciating the significance of GN'R or blindly repeating the same tired lines they have read about the line up not being the same.

Anyway most exciting news I've had in a while!
