I'm sure he could handle it just as well as he could in the late 90s. Maybe better now. But its a matter of whether or not he wants to go there.

Yeah, it's not a hard song (I mean slow with lots of guitar and keyboard, he can breath at least; unlike Scraped or Shackler's that he's handling it).

It could be that Axl thinks that Estranged, along with Yesterday's and Civil War should remain in that "era" and not bring them back out again or it could be as simple as he hasn't given it any real thought, and you have to remember once/if he played it there would be a even bigger demand for it to be played at every other show from there on and he probably wouldn't want that.

Personally I'd love for it to be played again but look at Don't Cry and how long it took that to come out of the vault and even then it's been hardly played at all, i honestly can't see Estranged happen in the foreseeable future but I'll be more then happy to admit i was wrong if it does get played.

To be perfectly honest, as much as I love 2010 GNR, they fucked up don't cry. I think Ashba should play it instead of Ron on that particular one, Ron is fantastic on all the complicated guitar parts, but Ashba got the blues feel, and Axl should practice it more because his voice really sucked on the Don't Cry I've heard recently, though it was fantastic on most of the other songs, for some reasons he fucked up Don't Cry (or maybe he just feels like singing it totally differently but I don't like it).

Chalk this one up there along with Civil War...two tracks that Axl never plays anymore and I don't understand why. Two of my all-time favorite GNR songs. I've really been on an Estranged kick lately, matter of fact.

Maybe he's sick of playing that old shit. I mean he played it from what 91-93, and from the sound of things no one enjoyed 92-93. Did you know there is an album Called Chinese Democracy? Maybe he doesn't want to sing some songs because they bring up old wounds or touchy subjects.

Or maybe he's saving some songs for a U.S tour.

Some songs are just especially pointless without Slash, and more importantly, feelings change. To do them just for the sake of it wouldn't feel right.

Because it would kinda be like confirming that there will never be a reunion, and maybe he doesn't wanna do that. And why would anyone want him to do that anyway?

Surely it's better to have songs left over that everyone feels can't be done without the old guys, so that there's a need for them to come back some day. Double talkin' jive is another one for sure I know I personally don't wanna hear any other guitarist play

And when it comes down to it, I don't know what difference it makes for people whether he plays it or not.

You can still listen to it whenever you want.

Excellent, this lineup has more technical talent and emotional feel than the original lineup posessed, If by chance they decide to play it- I can only hope to be there, it would be awesomely memorable and with GNR- you never know!! The unpredictability is part of the mytique

Estranged its too melodic for Ron to play, and since DJ has struggled with this i loves solo, I think Estranged is way too advanced to tackle for this band.

They should not be adding more UYI songs anyways, they should be adding more CD songs or even bring back silkworms and oh my god.

Dude, you're clearly not a musician. This band has everything needed to pull off Estranged perfectly. This band is seriously technically a lot more talented than the original band...deal with it. It is a fact. You just don't like the person who is now playing it. Which is fine, just say that reason for not liking it, but don't doubt Fortus, Ashba, and Thal's talent, because they are all three amazing guitar players.
