Zeppelin
Yeah, as a huge Megadeth fan, this album is just bad. Well, maybe not bad, but it's completely forgettable and underwhelming. Which actually is pretty bad lol.I'm very disappointed. I don't mind Dance In The Rain, Beginning of Sorrow, The Blackest Crow, and Kingmaker is an okay opener. The title track is absolute ass, and while the second half of the album takes some chances, it's still boring. Albums like Youthanasia, Cryptic Writings, and Risk all took chances and still sound great (even though Risk is still kinda meh). This album really makes albums like The System Has Failed and Endgame look like So Far, So Good...So What! and Rust In Peace lol. Scumcat Esq.
Surprisingly, I like Super Collider better than their two previous efforts. I like 8 out of 11 songs and I'm still waiting for bonus tracks to leak. Definitely gonna buy it when it's out. I like only 4 songs off Endgame and I was infuriated when 13 came out and I heard a mess that Sudden Death was and learnt that they decided to include NWO, Swan and Millenium in it.Sure, it's not PSBWB or RIP or CTE, but at this point in time I don't care. It's different and I like it.
Cosmo
Gave the album a listen... what the hell are you guys talking about? It's a solid album! Good departure from the tension of the last two albums. I like most of the songs.
Rdeyahlxp
Actually really liking this Megadeth effort. Th1rt3en was, to put it mildly, a total shitstain which tarnished their good run since 2004's the System has Failed. Mustaine's singing was absolutely horrendous and the tracks were completely forgettable. Super Collider has excellent Mustaine singing overall, the tracks sound rich and full of life. Most tracks are pretty catchy and aren't trying too hard or feeling forced (like almost everything from th1rt3en and a lot from Endgame). Cosmo
One thing some people don't get Heaviness ≠ Quality. This album isn't nearly as heavy as Endgame and Th1rt3en, yeah, that's true but Th1rt3en has double the fillers as this one. It's not as stable, IMO. It's Mustaine wanting to be aggressive to the max even if it means lacking musicality, y'know... You can't get the same album over and over again, it sucks. It's nice to change a bit. Endgame > Super Collider > Th1rt3en, IMO.

Zeppelin
I don't really give a damn about heaviness. Megadeth's more experimental albums like Cryptic Writings, Risk, Youthanasia, etc. are 100x the album that Super Collider is. It's just not strong for me. And the production is terrible. You can hear the solos come in, and then the rhythm guitar gets pushed way into the back. It's pretty crappy sounding. But, production aside, there are a few decent songs and that's about it for me. And some of the lyrics are awful. Dance In The Rain is a great example. It could be a terrific song, but it actually says "al-CIA-da" in the song. I mean, what the fuck. CAFC Nick
Went to the Megadeth show in London on Thurs 6th, also met the band beforehand and got my Super Collider album signed! The album is ok, not their best. A few pretty solid tracks on there but quite a bit of filler too.Great day.

Scumcat Esq.
After listening to CW for the first time, I thought, 'WTF is this? Is this a fucking Bon Jovi record or what?' Sure, then I grew to like most songs on it.And Risk is a very special record to me.Anyways...

Scumcat Esq.
MEGADETH JOINED BY 'RECYCLED ORCHESTRA' FOR PERFORMANCE OF 'SYMPHONY OF DESTRUCTION'Fan-filmed video footage of MEGADETH performing its classic song "Symphony Of Destruction" with Paraguay's Recycled Orchestra on Friday, August 2 in Broomfield, Colorado can be seen below. They are called the "Recycled Orchestra", made up of children who live in the village of Cateura, built on top of the largest garbage dump in the Paraguayan capital of Asuncion, and the film they are making is called "Landfill Harmonic". The utterly amazing and touching "Landfill Harmonic" tells the story of a group of young musicians who create music with instruments made out of trash. Ecologist and music teacher Favio Chávez organized the awe-inspiring group of young students to create the orchestra."One day it occurred to me to teach music to the children of the recyclers and use my personal instruments," Chávez, who worked as an ecological technician at the landfill, told The Telegraph. "But it got to the point that there were too many students and not enough supply. So that's when I decided to experiment and try to actually create a few."This inspirational story will be told in an upcoming feature-length documentary called "Landfill Harmonic", tentatively due in 2014. According to the filmmakers, the documentary shows "how trash and recycled materials can be transformed into beautiful-sounding musical instruments, but more importantly, it brings witness to the transformation of precious human beings." The performance last night was filmed and to be included in the documentary."Symphony Of Destruction" Broomfield: I've been following these Recycled Orchestra guys for some time now. But it totally came as a surprise and I'm extremely pleased to see this, and I thought I'd share. You just can't find better instruments to play Symphony. EccoTides
I really enjoyed The System Has Failed and United Abominations - both great albums front to back. The albums that followed have been progressively more disappointing, with this newest one being the steepest drop off. Yikes. My favorite Megadeth album ever, though, will always be Youthanasia. Lots of nostalgia tied to it, and I think it straddles the line between being heavy and accessible very well.
Scumcat Esq.
Fall to your knees and bow to... Yeah, Jason, you're a real metal dude and GN'R is/was fakey, Hollywood stuff... Sure.
Chewbacca
You know, I really liked Jason in MetallicA and his new album, but that dance of his in the beggining...
Scumcat Esq.
I liked him in Metallica too. But IMHO he tries too hard...Actually it's when he left that I started gradually losing interest in the band... Edited October 12, 2013 by Scumcat Esq. Chewbacca
You know, I can't understand all the hate on the new album. It's certainly better than risk. I mean, it's not Rust or even Endgame... but there are some neat tunes in there like Forget to remember and super collider kingmaker blackest crow.Oh my god, they're gonna do the entire Youthanasia in this south america tour! Please come to Porto Alegre. Call me a heretic, but I love that album! Edited December 18, 2013 by Chewbacca
